In 2012, a dog rescue center called “Changchun Animal Rescue Base” was built in Changchun city by Chinese millionaire Wang Yan. The loss of his beloved dog to the slaughterhouse had led him to that decision.

Sadly, this kindhearted man didn’t find his dog despite all his efforts: “I went looking everywhere, but all to no avail. Finally, someone let me go into the slaughterhouse to try my luck there.”

Since then, the 29-year-old man has rescued more than 2000 stray canines from slaughterhouses. He even had a dog statue in the shelter to pray for the poor
animals.

Now, there are over 200 dogs of varied breeds at the shelter. “There are 215 dogs at the base now, mostly came from the slaughterhouses, saved by volunteers and brought here,” Wang said.

The millionaire spends every cash on providing the pups with what they need, such as food and medical care.

He shared: “I don’t accept cash donations, but instead hope to receive donations of food and other supplies for the dogs.”
