As the show's voice actors, the main voice actors received $30,000 per episode until 1998. Asking for a raise, they were paid $125,000 per episode from 1998 to 2004. Things didn't stop there when the show started making tons of money from their DVDs and the voice actors asked for another raise, resulting in their salaries being between $250,000 and $360,000 per episode.
In 2008, the cast wanted a "salary increase" and it was raised to $400,000 per episode. Three years later, Fox threatened to cancel the show if production costs were not reduced, so the cast agreed to $300,000 per episode.
