We live in divisive times. It is fascinating to see how different generations attempt to connect with one another. It's even more amusing when corporations and teachers make an effort to engage with young people, who they assume solely use memes to communicate. Sometimes, the older people who don't really get the joke attempt to inject themselves into it, ends up appearing awkward and a little pitiful.
For some reason, the way the older generation makes way too much effort to connect with the young generation is extremely hilarious. Fortunately, the r/fellowkids subreddit captures these brilliant moments. The subreddit of nearly 1 million people describes itself as a forum for "advertisements and media that totally appeal to the radical youth!". Its members dedicate their time to mocking media and brands' ads "where 'the man' tries to appeal to young people using their vernacular in a lame, pandering way."
