Many factors can cause career changes. And they are entirely normal! Maybe that's why our favorite celebs are choosing the limelight over the degrees they got in college. It's very different to see them at the desk, in a lab, or even out in the field aside from the projects they star in.
We admire intellectuals who put in a lot of effort to succeed. For this reason, we're sharing stories of famous people who went the extra mile by getting surprising degrees unrelated to their field of expertise.

#1 Adam Sandler pursued his acting education at NYU.

Adam Sandler is one of the most flexible actors. He plays roles in comedies, dramas, and even thrillers. In 1988, he graduated from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University with a bachelor's degree in acting.

#2 Ashton Kutcher planned to study biochemical engineering.

Ashton Kutcher went to the University of Iowa to pursue a career as a biochemical engineer. He didn't get a degree, but his motivation for enrolling in it was great. He was looking for treatment for his twin brother's cardiac condition.

#3 Cindy Crawford dreams of becoming a chemical engineer.

Cindy Crawford is perhaps best known for the iconic Pepsi commercial she starred in, but first, the supermodel had other ideas. She received a scholarship from Northwestern University to study chemical engineering after being named valedictorian in her high school.

#4 Cole Sprouse studied archaeology.

Cole Sprouse did not completely relinquish his hard-earned reputation since the twin brother and the former child star became academics and received degrees from New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study. Even though archaeology wasn't one of his majors, Cole Sprouse participated in digs in Asia and Europe for a short time.

#5 Dwayne Johnson first wanted to major in criminology.

Dwayne Johnson played college football while pursuing his bachelor's in general studies in physiology and criminology before becoming one of the most sought-after professional wrestlers. Even though his time in the main leagues was short, his pro wrestling career was excellent before he made it big in Hollywood.

#6 Emma Watson got an English literature degree.

The real-life Hermione Granger is just as intelligent as her character in Harry Potter Movies and books. Emma Watson studied at Worcester College in Oxford and graduated from Brown University with a degree in English literature.

#7 Jamie Foxx got a scholarship for musical and artistic creation.

Ray stood out because of his portrayal of blues artist Ray Charles, probably due to the musical proficiency he acquired in college. At the United States International University, Jamie Foxx pursued a scholarship to study composition for the performing arts.

#8 John Legend earned all As in English major.

John Legend has an academic achievement that is as impressive as his music career. He majored in African-American literature and received a magna cum laude degree in English from the University of Pennsylvania. He received admission and scholarship offers from Harvard, Georgetown, and Morehouse College before enrolling at Penn.

#9 Kourtney Kardashian studied Spanish while majoring in theatre.

The eldest Kardashian child is well recognized for her popularity in reality shows and her influential lifestyle. She was also a committed student. Kourtney Kardashian studied for two years at Southern Methodist University before earning a degree in theatre arts with a Spanish minor from the University of Arizona.

#10 Meghan Markle got degrees in theatre and international studies.

Meghan Markle double majored in theatre and international studies at Northwestern University before appearing in the Suits and advancing to the position of Duchess of Sussex. Before graduating, she even participated in a study abroad program in Spain and interned at an embassy in Argentina.

#11 Natalie Portman completed a psychology degree.
