14 Co-stars Who Reportedly Did Not Get Along, Despite Playing Best Friends In Movies And TV Shows

People often can’t stand some colleagues at work. Regardless of their job, getting in trouble with co-workers is sometimes unavoidable when things don't go as planned or ego gets in the way. As a result, some people refuse to keep working in that situation. That sounds OK because they certainly might not give 100% in their performance when cooperating with who they don’t get along.
But when people can’t stay out of trouble, what will they do? In other words, there’re some cases where people can’t leave the job and have to get it done. For example, movie casts who were chosen by directors, normally wouldn’t be changed only by simple “personal issues”. These actors will continue to work with the haters with no choice if they don't want to cause more trouble for the crew or even for themselves. And here is the thing, some actors, who didn’t get on well with each other, played best friends in movies and TV Shows. How would these actors feel when not only keeping working with the one they hate but also pretending that they are one of the most important people to each other on-screen? That would certainly bring them complicated emotions.

#1 Alex Pettyfer and Channing Tatum in Magic Mike

“Channing Tatum does not like me. For many reasons. Many being my own fault," Alex revealed to the Hollywood Reporter in 2015. The reasons are Alex's bad rep before the film, his standoffish behavior on set, and notably the fact that he rented an apartment from one of Channing's friends and didn't pay four months' worth of rent.

#2 Rose McGowan and Alyssa Milano in Charmed

In a series of back-and-forth tweets, Rose told Alyssa in 2020, "I cried every time we got renewed because you made that set toxic AF." Alyssa afterward said, "It makes me sad. Then I think, hurt people hurt people. I wish her well and I’ll leave it at that and hope that she heals."

#3 Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex and the City

Kim has claimed that she had “never been friends” with the SATC girls, calling out Sarah Jessica herself multiple times for years. SJP even responded to a question about the possibility of Kim joining And Just Like That  by saying, "I don’t think I would [be okay], because I think there’s just too much public history of feelings on her part that she’s shared."

#4 Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel in the Fast and the Furious franchise

In 2016, the Rock wrote an Instagram post where he referred to certain "candy asses" on the Fast and Furious shooting. Vin then implied the post was about him when he responded, "Honestly, give me a second and I will tell you everything. Everything." The two have spoken out about each other in the subsequent years - including Vin publicly asking Dwayne to rejoin the franchise. 

#5 Ashley Tisdale and Lucas Grabeel in High School Musical franchise

Despite portraying the iconic brother-sister pair, Ashley and Lucas were originally far from close. “We were not good friends, let’s just be honest. It’s been 10 years… We can talk about this now. We hated each other," Ashley revealed in 2017, with Lucas stressing the similarities between her and the role of Sharpay. 

#6 Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley in The Vampire Diaries

Although Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley portrayed the on-and-off lovers turned friends, Nina told that she and Paul didn't get on well. "I realize now that there's a fine line between love and hate, and we despised each other so much that it read as love," Nina explained earlier. "We just didn't get along for maybe the first five months of shooting." Recently, they have joked about hating each other and now surprisingly turned into close friends.

In Naya's memoir, Sorry Not Sorry, she wrote about Lea, "It seemed like she blamed me for anything and everything that went wrong. If I'd complained about anyone or anything, she'd assumed I was bitching about her. Soon, she started to ignore me, and eventually, it got to the point where she didn't say a word to me for all of Season 6."

#8 William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy in Star Trek

William and Leonard had a long and complicated relationship, which started with them as rivals on the Star Trek set. William himself told in 2016 of the "clashes", "Nothing is ever one person’s fault - one hand clapping doesn’t make a sound."

#9 Dominic Monaghan and Matthew Fox in Lost

When Dominic was asked to convince Matthew to join Twitter in 2012 - to which he answered, "He beats women. No thanks.” Cue the fan asking about “all those good times” they had a chance to stay together again, to which Dominic responded,  “How do you know we ever did? You don’t know either of us. He beats women. Not isolated incidents. Often. Not interested.” Still, Matthew has denied the allegations.

#10 Jamie Lynn Spears and Alexa Nikolas in Zoey 101

Alexa is known for being accused Jamie Lynn of bullying on set, but things resurfaced after Jamie Lynn wrote that Alexa leaked rumors about her being "mean and bitchy" in her memoir earlier this year. Alexa is reported to say that Jamie Lynn was "lying up a storm," which Britney Spears herself supported.

#11 Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty, Beverly Hills, 90210

Being asked in 2019 what the worst fight, Shannen got into with Jennie was, she answered, "I can only remember one incident and that was when, yeah, we took it outside."

#12 Isaiah Washington and Patrick Dempsey in Grey's Anatomy

Isaiah was forced to leave Grey's after he used an anti-gay slur when having an argument with Patrick, which some on set have told was about their costar, T.R. Knight (Isiah denied that this was the case). Just last year, Isaiah defined Patrick as a "total tyrant" who "was not a nice guy from day one." 

#13 Mark Harmon and Pauley Perrette in NCIS

Pauley was said to leave NCIS after Mark's dog bit a crew member, who later needed stitches, and then kept bringing his dog to set. She later tweeted, "I too went to CBS, told about abuse by MH on set & I was asked 3 times 'are you asking for money?' I was like 'Huh? No!' And I did NOT! I wanted me & my crew to be safe from him."

#14 Betty White and Bea Arthur in Golden Girls

Betty told Bea back in 2011, "Bea had a reserve. She was not fond of me. She found me a pain in the neck sometimes. Sometimes if I was happy, she'd be furious." And the casting director for the show spoke he once heard Bea call Betty a "fucking cunt," so that’s all.
