We all know what the biggest fear of every pet owner is. Losing their beloved furballs is the worst pain for them to go through. Therefore, it is understandable that a pet owner gets infuriated and wishes to be compensated after having his (or her) little pal stolen. But do things always work that way? What if the culprit had a proper reason to pull the stealing act? Let's dive into the story we're about to share now!

It was posted on the popular subreddit r/AmItheA**hole by an account name u/Boring-Exit9303. The OP had adopted a male dog, Maximo Tiberio (Max for short), with a history of aggressive problems. That explained why she always had to put a muzzle on him every time she walked him outside. One single time, she was strolling, as usual, in the park nearby with her daughter and Max. Suddenly she saw a girl snatching the dog and driving away.Source: u/Boring-Exit9303
The OP couldn't catch her but only took a picture of her vehicle's license plate. She immediately reported to the police. On the next day, the police returned with the girl and Max. Seeing the dog in a miserable status, the OP got extremely angry and claimed to sue the looter.Source: u/Boring-Exit9304
Surprisingly, the girl refused the accusation of committing the crime. She rationalized that she had been noticing the dog was forced to wear a muzzle against his will, hence she just tried to save him because she supposed he had been abused lately. Besides, the OP didn't feel good when her sister found the girl bravely equitable and deserving a commendation than a lawsuit.Source: u/Boring-Exit9305
Reddit, on the opposite side, found the girl stupid and rapacious. First, no one would ever think of animal abuse when they saw dogs with muzzles. Some countries even passed a law for dog owners to use muzzles to prevent dogs from attacking people. The culprit was so poorly excusing herself.Source: r/AmItheAsshole
Moreover, Reddit notified that the looter had always been stalking the OP and her dog. They thought the girl just wanted that cute dog and snatched him away while nobody was near. Reddit encouraged the owner to pull a lawsuit against her and make her pay for her greedy stupidity.Source: r/AmItheAsshole
Some people thought a bit differently. They didn't expect good things to come from exaggerating the case. They suggested talking and perhaps asking for money charge for the vet bill. The girl was wrong but she could learn from this. Eventually, the OP decided to press charges against the culprit.Source: r/AmItheAsshole
