35 Funny Drawings By The “Good Bear Comics” That Certainly Satisfy Your Twisted Mind

Margot Nolan

Have you been through tiring working days? If you’re looking for something funny, you'd better spare your free time on colorful comics! Since pure satirical cartooning style has been favored and appreciated, many comic artists have tried mixing different elements together, specifically comedy and tragedy, to produce one fascinating fresh style of so-called “dark humor”.
As briefly explained, this term stems from personal or social nature, which involves gloomy or morbid satire. When it’s in use, there is often an exposure of endless depressing topics and triggering sadness. Even if dark humor is acceptable, there will hardly be anyone who truly loves it. Therefore, many artists have strived for good ideas to make their work approachable to all readers’ tastes. Though dark humor appears risky, “Good Bear Comics” (or James) has become its very first conqueror of all. Let’s see how he makes solid jokes out of dark situations in very clever ways!
James has always been into art and funny comics since he was little. “[…] I suppose it’s natural that it’s something I would try to do”. He literally started sketching as a kid and even challenged himself to try sketching everything, from portraits to comics. He was so obsessed with the process that he used to bring his sketchbook along with him in high school.
No matter how frustrated James feels when making comics, his works are worth reading. He believes a good comic is simply made up of “think about something funny” and “write it down”. But without his imagination, there would not be any of his crazy and amazing ideas. His family and friends are such a strong motivation to him!
James never stops turning his ideas into comics based on what he feels like drawing – “If I feel like drawing cute animals, I’ll pick a joke from my list of ideas with animals.” However, many of them have not been shown as they are too demanding and exhausting. Sharing deeper about his comic-making process, the artist claimed that sketching out the drawings was his least favorite step. Exactly! The proportions and perspective in each strip bother him. Not to mention, he tends to erase and redraw his characters more than three times which just prolongs the entire process. Luckily, he finds coloring really amusing whatever the details are.
In terms of forthcoming schemes for further comic series, James promised to maintain a strong attachment to his brand “Good Bear Comics” and level it up as much as possible. He also has cherished a plan to branch off onto another series with recurring characters. “Maybe something using more traditional media, such as watercolors.” What an admirable artist!
James has run several platforms and one online bookstore – GoodBearComics. He is always thankful for any of your support.
