Server Rants About Customers Who Don't Tip Enough, Dividing The Internet In The Process

In the United States, tipping is customary for certain jobs. Some Americans claim that it is difficult for workers to survive only on the salary paid by their employers since the salaries for some occupations, including servers and taxi drivers, are less than the minimum wage. As a result, giving tips is the best way for clients and customers to help them and raise the employee's income as well.
The amount of a tip in the US might vary based on the level of the service and the quality of the establishment. For example, waiters, waitresses, bartenders, and taxi drivers are always tipped between 15-20% of the cost of the service; 20% or more for very good service; and no less than 10% for poor service.
Although tips are technically not required, it is generally accepted that servers do so because the federal minimum wage for tipped employees is only $2.13 an hour. Even though waiters might earn a lot of money from generous patrons, some people will always try to take advantage of the system by only paying for their meals.
