These days, people who visit the CF Shops at Don Mills in Toronto, Canada have seen a sad sight that’s tugging at their heartstrings. A heartbroken goose waits atop the shop's rooftop every day, with the hope of reuniting with his soulmate who will never return.
According to Global News and employees of an LCBO shop in the area, his mate was tragically struck and killed by a car. Therefore, the lonely goose has been wandering around the shops to look for his eternal love.
Sometimes, he goes away for a couple of hours, and then he returns and waits repeatedly. These shops have become a place of mourning for him.
“He looks very sad,” one shopper named Colin Tobias told Global News. “And you can tell he misses his wife. He’s wandering around wondering, looking.”
Many shoppers and staff have noticed the goose’s bad mood and felt upset for him. They are hoping that the goose can overcome the sadness and open his heart to another love.
“He lost his own partner and for that he is depressed and sad,” Sayad Rasulnezhad, a LCBO employee, told Global News. “I cried, actually.”
“I think he should be looking for a mate, and we should be helping him,” Tobias said.
