When it comes to weddings, brides-to-be often choose close family members and friends to take part in the ceremony — such as groomsmen, bridesmaids, and ringbearers. However, one woman on Reddit chose to go against tradition by letting her cat be flower boy at her upcoming ceremony instead of her niece. Needless to say, she got criticized by her sister for her choice.

Taking to the subreddit “Am I The A—hole?”, the bride-to-be explained her sister went mad after finding out her kid was not given the role of flower girl. The OP's decision caused tension between herself and her sister, but she still defended it and thought that she was not wrong for choosing her cat for the wedding role instead of her niece. She noted that her family knew about her plan, and everyone even thought it was a cute and great idea.

Following the argument, the bride-to-be uninvited her sister from the upcoming wedding, and her decision has been slammed by other members of their family. However, many Reddit users commented on the post siding with her, and they pointed out that her sister can't decide to ask for wedding privileges.

"She didn't want to be a part of your life, she doesn't get to reap the benefits of her kids being in your wedding and an invitation to said wedding. I have two cats and I think that using a cat as a flower boy is an amazing idea! Now all I have to do is find a groom to be on board lol," one person wrote, while another commented: "Nobody is entitled to a role in a wedding and it is very bad manners to ask, for oneself or for another person."
One person wrote: "Do you even have a relationship with your niece? If your sister went low contact I'd assume she hardly knows you anyways. So I doubt the girl really cares. This is just your sister's weird ego trip. Ignore them and enjoy your wedding with the best flower boy ever."
While another added: "Let me get this straight. She goes low contact but demands privileges as she wishes?"
