Man Gets Criticized By Sister For Refusing To Save Her Puppy, But Reddit Rallies Behind Him

Carolyn Mullet

Reddit is rallying around a poster who took to the subreddit "Am I The A—hole" with a question: "AITA for refusing to give my sister money needed to save her puppy?" It sounds awful, but just reading the post, you will know the reason why. Here’s how it all happened.
The OP who goes by the user throwawaysp20 shared that his sister recently bought a puppy in a parking lot. She didn't have a job and a house, so the man advised her to find a new home for the pup as she was not capable of caring for him. "She couldn’t even afford the first vet visit, and had to beg our older sister to cover the bill."

However, things got messy when the pup was diagnosed with Parvo, an infectious DNA virus that commonly causes severe illness in young and unvaccinated dogs. He needed treatment and hospitalization, but his sister couldn’t afford the vet bill. She begged the man to cover it and promised to pay him back one day, but he refused.

When the man refused, she screamed at him and criticized him for being heartless and leaving her pup to die. He advised her and gave her the best solution, but she ignored. "I told her that if she wants to save the puppy, she needs to surrender him to the vet. She absolutely lost it and hung up on me."

The man went on Reddit to ask for advice, and users sided with him. Redditors agreed he was not the a**hole as his sister is obviously irresponsible. He is not the reason the pup will die as it is never his responsibility. Scroll down to read all replies!
