The fate of some of The CW's current TV series has been officially decided. On Tuesday, the network announced that it would renew seven of the series currently airing - All American, The Flash, Kung Fu, Nancy Drew, Riverdale, Superman & Lois and Walker - for the upcoming 2022 - 2023 season. This means audiences will soon be able to see The Flash season 9, Riverdale season 7, All American season 5, Nancy Drew season 4, Kung Fu season 3, Walker season 3 and Superman & Lois season 3.
"As we prepare for the 2022-23 season, these scripted series, along with the alternative series we renewed earlier, will serve as the start of a solid foundation utilizing some of our most-watched series for us to build on for next year and beyond," The CW Television Network CEO Mark Pedowitz said.
There are many shows with several seasons that haven't received any green light to continue yet, such as DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Charmed, Batwoman, Stargirl, In the Dark, Dynasty, Legacies, and Roswell, New Mexico. The lineup of series that haven't been renewed also includes new arrivals such as Tom Swift, Naomi, The 4400, and All American: Homecoming.
At the moment, fans are really concerned about the fate of The CW's existing programs, especially after the alleged sale of the network to Nexstar and the fact that renewals are usually announced at the beginning of the year.
