Hit By Car, This Owl Was So Grateful To Her Savior That She Couldn’t Stop Cuddling Him

GiGi, a great horned owl, was saved and brought to the Wild at Heart Rescue in Mississippi. Missy Dubuisson, the founder of the rescue center, said that she has been alive is such a miracle. She suffered dangerous head trauma after being hit by a car. Not just that, her body was full of parasites, and she had a condition called aspergillosis, which is similar to pneumonia in humans. She was near the end of her life. Luckily, she met a kind-hearted man named Douglas who gave her special caring.

During the course of treatment, the owl lost around 20-50% of her weight. Thank to the great care of the staff in the rescue center, she gradually recovered. The recovery wouldn’t be that quick if not for Douglas. He surprised everyone in the center because of the strong bonds between him and these magnificent birds. That the man comes by the name “birds of prey whisperer”.

After returning from the trip to visit his family, Douglas came to meet GiGi. Could you guess? The owl couldn’t hide her excitement when she spotted him. She started dancing and cuddling him. She absolutely laid trust in him, the most kind-hearted human in her mind.
"It literally brings tears to my eyes to watch him interact with these birds. They absolutely know him and trust him. It’s the trust that you see in her face." Dubuisson said.
