The official confirmation of the rumors in the past few days has just come today, when Disney reveals that Marvel's Daredevil, Marvel's Jessica Jones and other series made with Netflix will soon arrive on Disney+ next month.
Marvel's Netflix shows have been a subject of debate among fans over the years due to their confusing connection to the wider MCU. Conversations escalated further when two prominent characters from the Marvel Netflix universe appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home and the TV series Hawkeye. Yes, we are obviously talking about Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio, who reprised their roles of Matt Murdock aka Daredevil and Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin, respectively.
A while ago, Marvel President Kevin Feige also said that the situation was not yet settled (or at least it was not yet the time), simply stating that the ability to see the heroes of the Marvel Netflix series interact in the MCU would only augment Marvel Studios' storytelling tools.
Although it has not yet been officially confirmed that the series will definitively become part of the MCU canon as did old film sagas, such as the Spider-Man trilogy with Tobey Maguire and The Amazing Spider-man movies with Andrew Garfield, Disney today has unveiled that the entire catalog of Marvel Netflix series will soon arrive on Disney+, thus hinting that D'Onofrio's words were actually well-founded.
The announcement revealed that all the series related to the Defenders universe will officially arrive on Disney+ from March 16, 2022, shortly after abandoning the Netflix catalog. It came with a card dedicated to Moon Knight, the Marvel Studios series starring Oscar Isaac that will premiere on March 30.
Series arriving on Disney+ on March 16, all available now, include:
- Marvel's Daredevil (three seasons)
- Marvel's Jessica Jones (two seasons)
- Marvel's Luke Cage (two seasons)
- Marvel's Iron Fist (two seasons)
- Marvel's The Punisher (two seasons)
- Marvel's The Defenders (miniseries)
Considering the aforementioned appearance of Daredevil in Spider-Man: No Way Home as well as the participation of Kingpin in the season finale of Hawkeye with the same actors of the Netflix shows, fans of course expect to see the other characters of all these series in the next TV series and films of Marvel Studios.
For the moment, however, we don't know if Krysten Ritter, Finn Jones and Mike Colter will be Jessica Jones, Danny Rand and Luke Cage again for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Are the Defenders canonical with the MCU?
To this question, nobody knows the answer yet, but the chances are very high at this point.Considering the aforementioned appearance of Daredevil in Spider-Man: No Way Home as well as the participation of Kingpin in the season finale of Hawkeye with the same actors of the Netflix shows, fans of course expect to see the other characters of all these series in the next TV series and films of Marvel Studios.
