With the highly anticipated series titled Obi-Wan Kenobi, we could see a new live-action version of an iconic character from an animated series of the Star Wars franchise.
According to the Star Wars news site Bespin Bulletin, multiple sources claim that Rupert Friend, announced in the cast about a year ago, is ready to take part in the series as the Grand Inquisitor.

Introduced as the main antagonist of the first season of Star Wars Rebels, the character is a Pau'an who used to be a Jedi Temple Guard in the past. As fans can see from his title, he is the leader of Darth Vader's Inquisitors, a lightsaber-wielding team aiming at hunting down and murdering the surviving Jedi who managed to escape Order 66 during the fall of the Galactic Republic.
The Grand Inquisitor met his end in the first season climax of Star Wars Rebels during the battle with Padawan Kanan Jarrus.

Sources also claim that Friend's character will be one of three inquisitors featured in this live-action series, with the other two being played by Moses Ingram and Sung Kang. As reported by Cinelinx in recent months, Kang may play the Fifth Brother, although at the moment there is no confirmation in this regard. That said, according to Bespin Bulletin sources, Ingram's Inquisitor will indeed be the most important of the three, further theorizing that he might be a completely new character.
The filming of Obi-Wan Kenobi already finished last September, but the plot and characters are still strictly locked up by Lucasfilm. As mentioned earlier, Deborah Chow is the designated director of the new series, which is created based on a screenplay written by Joby Harold.
