"High School Musical: The Musical: The Series" Season 3 Will Take On "Frozen"

Olivia Garcia

The third season of the acclaimed Disney+ original series, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series has just begun filming in Los Angeles. Created and produced by Tim Federle (who is most known for the 2017 animation Ferdinand and the upcoming musical Better Nate Than Ever), this season is set in a family-run summer camp in California named Camp Shallow Lake, where the Wildcats and their companions will stage a production of Frozen and determine who it will be "the best in the snow".

In addition to the music of Frozen, in the third season of the show, we will also be able to hear mesmerizing covers of famous songs from Camp Rock and the High School Musical franchise.
New faces joining the cast this season include newcomer Adrian Lyles and Saylor Bell as recurring characters in the series and guest stars Corbin Bleu (from the original High School Musical movies), Meg Donnelly (from another Disney musical ZOMBIES), and Jason Earles (from the iconic sitcom Hannah Montana).

Specifically, Adrian Lyles will play Jet, a mysterious new boy from Camp Shallow Lake. Saylor Bell will be Maddox, a tech-savvy girl with bright eyes and an alert mind who always follows the rules. Meg Donnelly will portray Val, a confident and fun college student and camping expert turned consultant in training who is ready to choreograph the summer production of Frozen. Jason Earles will be Dewey Wood, a cheeky and spoiled party director of Camp Shallow Lake. And last but not least, Corbin Bleu will be himself - a star of the High School Musical franchise.
Of course, there will also be the old cast of the first two seasons, which includes Joshua Bassett as Ricky, Matt Cornett as EJ, Sofia Wylie as Gina, Julia Lester as Ashlyn, Dara Reneé as Kourtney, Frankie Rodriguez as Carlos, Kate Reinders as Miss Jenn, Olivia Rose Keegan Lily and the new pop star Olivia Rodrigo as Nini.

The first two seasons of the GLAAD Media Award-winning series are only available for streaming on Disney+.
