Artist Hannah Bullen-Ryner, with her keen eye and attention to detail, has created a series of stunning portraits of our feathered friends. She arranges branches, leaves, petals and berries into lively, tiny birds on the ground like works of land art.Source: Instagram
Hannah’s works are no different from the beautiful paintings of a real artist, in which each small detail is layered like brushstrokes. Given this aesthetic, it's no surprise that she practiced art as a painter and photographer.Source: Instagram
But when experimenting with creativity and taste in plants, Hanna discovered a great joy. “Finding the medium of geological art as a connection between my art and the earth, my soul desperately needed this connection,” she shared. “As a full-time mother of three-year-old twin daughters, and a constant worrier, art has provided me with quiet and peaceful moments.”Source: Instagram
Each of Bullen-Ryner's pieces is made with materials found locally as well as from other sources she could discover. Using no fixing technique, her creations can only last for a few minutes before their parts start to be blown away.Source: Instagram
So why did she choose to work this way? "Some often wonder why I don't make something more permanent; others express their pity that my works are only temporary," says Bullen-Ryner.Source: Instagram
“But for me, the ephemeral nature of what I do has become therapy for the soul. I removed all worries, fears, and chaos from my mind and turned those into something beautiful to honor Mother Nature. I take a few pictures and then go for a walk or bike ride, leave it all behind and feel calmer, more connected and really lighter.”Source: Instagram
Today, let's admire the works of colorful birds, which will partly bring positive energy in you!Source: Instagram
