Last November, one of the most ambitious projects of Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe was released worldwide: Eternals - a film that centered on one of the lesser-known supergroups of the House of Ideas. Directed by Academy Award-winning director Chloé Zhao, the movie expands the cosmic side of the MCU and tells the story of the Eternals, a race of immortal aliens who arrived on Earth thousands of years ago to protect humanity from the threat of alien predators called Deviants.
In particular, the famous director confessed that he discovered that the Celestials - the cosmic entities of almost divine power that were introduced precisely in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise - would appear in Eternals as an integral part of the plot only a few weeks before the release of the new blockbuster.
Eternals was written by Ryan and Kaz Firpo, directed by Chloé Zhao and released in the United States on November 5. The movie stars Richard Madden as the almighty Ikaris, Gemma Chan as the lover of humanity Sersi, Kumail Nanjiani as the being with cosmic powers Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as the super-fast Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as the intelligent inventor Phastos, Salma Hayek as the wise spiritual guide Ajak, Lia McHugh as the eternal young Sprite, Don Lee as the mighty Gilgamesh, Barry Keoghan as the reserved Druig, Angelina Jolie as the fierce warrior Thena and Kit Harington as Dane Whitman.
