Even though they belong to the same family, we all know that tigers and cats are totally different. Yes people do call tigers the big cats, but they are far from the sweet, loving kitties we are familiar with. So, can we keep tigers in our homes as pets? The answer is we shouldn’t, but we absolutely can, as long as it’s the best thing for both us and them.

A 57-year-old woman named Janice Haley is now raising two Bengal tigers in her backyard in Orlando, Florida. And in her eyes, they are just as adorable and cuddly as any domestic cat out there.
“As far as they’re concerned, I am mommy,” Haley said. “These adorable cats rub me in the face, they’ll let me kiss them on the nose.”

The two exotic pets Haley is taking care of are Saber, a 600-pound male white Bengal tiger and Janda, a 400-pound orange Bengal tiger. They are both had fed three times a day and they are deeply fond of their human parents as well.

Haley’s incredible journey began in 1995 when she decided to quit her boring nine-to-five job to took a tiger training course as her husband David advised. She has always been working with these majestic animals since then, and she surely adores them pretty much.

Despite the fact that wild animals shouldn’t be kept in a small enclosure, Haley believes that her two tigers are living a better life with her.

“People who consider it cruel to keep them in captivity have a point, to a point,” she admitted. “It is not the ideal place for a wild animal to be, in a cage. But at this point, in the wild, there isn’t a lot hope out there for them anymore, and if there aren’t some of them left in cages there aren’t going to be any left at all in a couple of years from now… They are provided for and loved here. In my opinion, I wouldn’t mind being a tiger in my backyard.”
