“There’s no live-action Avatar movie in Ba Sing Se” is a common joke in the Avatar fandom, referring to the disastrous live-action adaptation in 2010 by M. Night Shyamalan. Therefore, it’s easy to understand why the animated series’ fans remain skeptical as Netflix announce a new live-action project, which is set to premiere in 2024.
However, from the latest trailer and teaser footage released by Netflix, the upcoming show looks better than we thought: More accurate character designs, breathtaking landscapes, and so on. The series is also said to stay faithful to the original version, giving fans some hope for a more-than-decent adaptation. For now, though, let’s browse through these 24 stunning on-screen footage tease by Netflix, to see what the new series has to offer.
