If you're a hardcore movie fan, chances are you probably can guess which movie is great and which isn't just by looking at the list of actors. Names such as Morgan Freeman or Anthony Hopkins almost always mean it's a great film. We say almost because there are times when even the most talented stars cannot save a bad role or a bad script in general.
Yes, some movies are doomed from the start, no matter how many A-list stars you see on the credit. Everybody makes mistakes, and accepting these parts might be the biggest mistakes of these celebrities. Here are the 15 worst roles of Hollywood's most legendary actors.

Al Pacino plays as himself in this movie, which makes us sad because his part is so flat and boring. None of his scenes really make the audiences laugh and he just sticks out like a sore thumb! This movie isn't for him and he can do so much better than this. The film was a disaster, but at least the Dunkaccino commercial at the end was good though.

Meryl Streep can nail any role she plays, but not this one. It's not entirely bad, it's just not at the level that we expected. We get so used to her wacky but good comedies that we automatically set the bar higher when we see her name. Her performance in this movie can be better.

6. Emma Watson As Sam Button In The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Her performance was fine, but her American English accent was horrible. Any interest you might have had before just went out the window as soon as Watson started talking.

Everyone knows that Jamie Dornan become a popular actor after 50 Shades of Grey, but that doesn't mean it's his best movie. Actually, it might be his worst performance. If you want to see how brilliant his acting can be, then watch The Fall instead.

It's hard to think about an Academy Award-winning actress when you watch Natalie Portman's performance in Your Highness. The movie is a freaking stoner comedy! And the most bizarre thing is that this mess happens just about two months after Portman wins her Best Actress Oscar for Black Swan.

11. Robert Downey Jr. as Dr. John Dolittle in Dolittle

Robert Downey Jr. won an Oscar for his role as Chaplin and should have gotten one for his performance as Iron Man. However, his next role as Dr. Dolittle has very little success. His accent in this movie is just bad and overall, it's one of the worst films of 2020.

Why Ben Kingsley accepted the role of Guru Tugginmypudha in The Love Guru is still a mystery until this day. The whole film is a mess. It's disgusting and boring, and it isn't even funny enough to become a joke for us to laugh about! It's a shame that Kingsley is in this movie.

This is by far the worst role Saoirse Ronan has ever played. It's not her fault though. The movie was doomed from the start with such a predictable and boring script. Tried as hard as she might, but she could not have saved it.

14. Kate Winslet as Jeanine Matthews in Divergent

Kate Winslet is no doubt a very talented actress, but her talent is completely wasted in this movie. Her character is very predictable and has no depth whatsoever. Her acting isn't the problem here, it's just that there is nothing in this role for her to play!

15. Tilda Swinton as Dianna in Trainwreck

This movie is not bad, it just doesn't fit Tilda. We're so used to her playing characters that are one of a kind, so it's kinda a huge letdown for a lot of us to see her as a stereotypical boss bitch with a spray tan and a pencil skirt.
Those are the 15 worst roles of Hollywood's best actors and actresses. Speaking of poor choices, there are times when iconic movie stars are so poorly cast they ruin the entire thing. Instead of turning the movie into a masterpiece like how the director wanted, they just did the complete opposite and destroyed it.
