After all, good or bad, some of our photos will live on forever on the Internet.
Some of us are born photogenic. No matter the lenses, some people always look good in their photos. However, the rest of us only look good from certain angles. So naturally, we prefer to have our photos taken with our good sides.
That’s why some celebrities have very strict rules when they have their photo taken. Some even only allow photos that have been heavily Photoshopped to go out on publications, suing anyone who dares to showcase them from their bad sides.
But that usually doesn’t stop photographers from snapping them from unflattering angles. And oh my, do they look different?
Here are 15 side-by-side comparisons of celebrities from their good side vs a random angle.
#1 Anne Hathaway

The only difference here is how natural and whimsical Anne Hathaway looks in her own photo, and how red carpet professional she is in the one taken by photographers. Bonus on her long slender legs in her self-picked photo too.#2 Katy Perry

Her face looks the same in both pictures, but not her waist. Or legs. Katy’s self-picked photo is retouched to have a slim waistline and longer legs. The red carpet photo captured by a random photographer shows her actual p.#3 Natalie Portman

You can hardly see any difference between these two photos, save for some wrinkles on the random photo. Natalie Portman still got it!#4 Amanda Seyfried

There is virtually no difference between a random shot and one that is selected by Amanda Seyfried. Both show her stunning features and beautiful p. However, the pose on the random shot is a little hunched.#5 Ana de Armas

Okay, this one is pretty good: In her self-picked photo, Ana de Armas uses optical illusion with her dress to look taller and more slender. But the magic is gone when she is photographed on the red carpet; she looks a bit shorter, but still very beautiful though.#6 Lady Gaga

Well, minus some small retouching for smoother skin on her self-picked photo, both photos look the same.#7 Demi Moore

This side-by-side comparison says it all: Demi Moore has no bad side. However, her selfie looks more natural and untouched.#8 Cara Delevingne

There is almost no difference, minus the fairer skin foundation in her selfie. But it really unnecessary; Cara Delevingne’s skin is beautiful enough without the retouching filter.#9 Jessica Alba

In Jessica Alba’s self-picked photo, we see a fairer complexion with fewer crowfeet. But her beauty is still radiant.#10 Charlize Theron

Okay, so this is the same angle. But Charlize Theron’s self-picked photo is definitely retouched to make her face look longer and slimmer. Which is unnecessary, as it also bulldozed her beautiful cheekbones.#11 Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman always looks stunning. However, due to her age, certain angles can make her cheeks look saggy.#12 Penélope Cruz

Penélope Cruz’s self-picked photo was retouched to hide certain wrinkles. The photographers show what she actually looks like. Still gorgeous, but with slightly aging skin.#13 Eva Longoria

Well, it’s a selfie, so we can forgive Eva Longoria for using filters to have a smoother and fairer complexion. But without it, her skin shows teeny, tiny aging signs.#14 Vanessa Hudgens

To be fair, we barely recognize Vanessa Hudgens under that heavy makeup. Both photos look similar, the only difference being one has colors and the other black-and-white.#15 Kate Hudson

Okay, Kate definitely retouches her photo to have slimmer shoulders. The photographers expose her bigger, real shoulder in this photo. But the curves make her way more attractive in my opinion.
