Acting requires a lot of work, including emotional effort. Actors sometimes express their emotions the way they really feel rather than just remembering their lines. And occasionally, they can immerse themselves in their roles so completely that they require time to process the feelings they encountered. This can even give us the impression that we will find it hard to forget them in that particular role.
We appreciate such an in-depth approach to the performing arts and can tell that some actors and actresses succeeded in connecting with their roles, and they did it so superbly that it long astonished us.

The actor was unsure whether Tim Burton was pleased with his performance. The crew lived at a country club during filming, and two young girls knocked on Johnny Depp's door, begging for Tom Hanks. After that, the actor couldn't shake the feeling that he'd be replaced by Hanks.
His concerns appeared to be unwarranted. Eventually, the sense of insecurity required for Depp's character grew stronger, and Burton felt Depp's performance to be quite convincing. By the way, the director joked that some of Depp's scars were real because the actor needed time to adjust to holding scissors in his hands.
