14 Supporting Characters Who Deserve A Chance To Shine In Their Own Spin-offs

Every movie has not only a fantastic cast of leads but a ton of incredible supporting characters. They’re funny and charming, and they always manage to make us smile. And sometimes, these sidekicks become more dominant than their leading counterparts. We would love to see more of them, but unfortunately, their story ends with the credits rolling.
In Movies and franchises, the protagonists' stories often have satisfying endings. But for the characters who stand beside them, the story might be a little unpredictable. They accompany the main characters, and at the end of the hero's journey, they just make a fleeting appearance, other times, they don't even get that far. And for many audiences, that isn't enough, and that is not where their stories should end.
From Alice Cullen of "The Twilight Saga" to Draco Malfoy in "Harry Potter" franchise, these characters deserve a chance to shine in the form of their own spin-off movies.

#1 Alice Cullen from The Twilight Saga

"The Twilight Saga" story revolves around the romance between a human girl, Bella, and a vampire, Edward. However, the film also features several fascinating side characters, like Alice Cullen, Edward's sister. It was much more interesting to watch Alice’s character development than that of Bella. Alice demonstrated that she was a free-spirited, unpredictable persona who could also see the future.

#2 Samwise Gamgee from The Lord of the Rings

Although Frodo Baggins is unquestionably the main character of "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, many viewers noticed that he would not have progressed as far as he did without Sam, his devoted gardener. Sam was the one who truly rescued Middle-Earth. He was kind, loyal, and brave. Additionally, he always encouraged Frodo through difficult times.

#3 Rocket and Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy

The first "Guardians of the Galaxy" film revealed that genetically modified raccoon Rocket and the sentient tree-like creature Groot had been friends for a very long time. In the film, Rocket mentioned interesting episodes of their past: escaping from the lab, becoming a criminal, being imprisoned, and then being released. It will be a fascinating story to watch on the big screen.

Well, it can be said that all of the characters in The Hunger Games are great. Additionally, the second movie introduced us to the handsome and interesting Finnick Odair. He's so popular among the powerful people of the Capitol that he might as well become powerful himself, but he wants to be loyal to his girlfriend even when she's sick. Finnick often claimed to be a spoiled playboy who had everything handed to them. But in reality, he was not like that.

#5 Gunther from Friends

Apart from the 6 main heroes, "Friends" has other interesting characters. One of them is barista Gunther, who has been unrequitedly in love with Rachel for 10 seasons because his life was no less curious than that of the main characters. In the film, he was described as an actor who has appeared in a TV series before but has to work in a cafe between his acting jobs. So, we think the series about his life, achievements, audition failures, love for Rachel, and his cafe adventures can be quite interesting.

#6 Mozzie from White Collar

Mozzie is the best friend and assistant of Neal Caffrey. But he is an ingenious criminao. We can be certain that he has started a lot of ridiculous schemes. And it would have been great to watch a series that created around him.

#7 Pintel and Ragetti from Pirates of the Caribbean

Many fans of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise recall the colorful pirate team of Pintel and Ragetti. Despite being pretty stupid, they were funny and loyal to the Pirata Codex. This is why we believe that a TV show focuses on these two pirates will be entertained to watch.

#8 Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter

The story about the young wizard Harry Potter has become famous worldwide. But Harry wasn’t the only interesting character at Hogwarts. For instance, it would have been interesting to see the same adventure from Draco Malfoy’s point of view. If that were real, we would discover more about the world of pure-blood wizards and the reasons Harry joined Lord Voldemort's evil forces, as well as his moral battles that ultimately led him to the right decision. We believe this could add even more depth to the story.

#9 Anathema Device from Good Omens

The series "Good Omens" becomes incredibly successful because it has interesting main characters. However, the characters support no less impressive. For instance, Anathema Device is the descendant of a fortune-teller. Her whole life is focused on a single goal: avoiding Armageddon, and she uses her understanding of future events to make this happen. We are curious to know more about her life before the events of the series and then, when she started living with the person she loved.

#10 Dr. Mann from Interstellar

In the movie Interstellar, Matt Damon played Dr. Mann, the scientist who was sent to a faraway planet to see whether it was suitable for humans. But it turned out that he wasn’t prepared for such a lonely life, so Mann decided to lure other people to this planet and then escape on their ship because the planet couldn’t sustain life. If moviemakers decide to make a flick about this not-so-perfect but realistic character, we would enjoy this seemingly fascinating drama.

#11 Tracy McConnell from How I Met Your Mother

Throughout all 9 seasons, the main character Ted told his kids about how he'd met their mother. This mother also deserved greater consideration given the title of the series. However, she only made an appearance in one season, and the characters' interaction was only hinted at briefly. This character is pretty cool—a she's singer, a children's book author, an artist, and simply a humorous person—so maybe it would have been reasonable to create a series featuring her.

#12 Kaz, Jesper, Inej, Nina, and Matthias from Shadow and Bone

Making a reasonable narrative out of two series of novels was a challenging assignment for the "Shadow and Bone" creators. This is why the characters who didn’t know each other in the books became a team on screen: Alina and The Darkling are from book series "Shadow and Bone", while Kaz, Jesper, Inej, Nina, and Matthias are the characters of the book series "Six of Crows". Their adventure is not thought to be distracted by the viewers' attention from the main thing, the Alina war. But in fact, it was these people who stole the show. We believe that a television show on their lives and adventures would be fantastic since it would have less teenage drama and more action.

#13 Reepicheep from The Chronicles of Narnia

In the second and third movies of "The Chronicles of Narnia" series, the swashbuckling mouse king, Reepicheep, was despised until he proved himself. This character is a real swordsman who won the respect of his people, he is funny, always supports his friends, and doesn’t betray his ideals. So, it would be wonderful to learn more about him and his background.

In the series "Lucifer", Maze isn’t really a big role: She only plays the supporting role of Lucifer. But Mazikeen needs her own series, because she is so smart, caustic, and fierce.
