In Hollywood, every actor has, at one point or another, struggled to have a role. So getting a role to burst into stardom is a huge success and always brings a lot of benefits. But some actors have become typical actors because they do a great job portraying a particular role, which has led the public to see them as that character throughout their careers.
On the other hand, there are many actors and actresses who are very versatile and have made some excellent appearances in films of different genres. For instance, who would have thought that the actor who portrayed Irving Rosenfeld in "American Hustle" would also play Trevor Reznik in "The Machinist"? Or that serial killer Aileen Wuornos from "Monster" and the top-level MI6 spy Lorraine Broughton from "Atomic Blonde" are played by one actress?
