Being jealous is totally fine, but being jealous to the point where it may be toxic is not very healthy for your mental stability and self-development. Obviously, if you genuinely are a fan of a star, you would support them and be glad that they’re happy. So why can’t these fans control their emotions and get over these minute events? Well, it’s because they’re either a teenager or someone who is overly obsessed with their favorite celeb to the point of going completely mad.
During these cases, the celebs have been staying on top of the game and keeping their fans in check by calling out the fans who are attacking and criticizing their relationships. After all, everyone deserves happiness, even the famous ones out there.
Today, we collect 19 moments when celebs called out their fans for hating their partners.
#1 Because of how harsh people were when they were together, Florence Pugh and Zach Braff's three-year relationship came to an end in the early months of 2022, but they kept it a secret for several months.

"We’ve been trying to do this separation without the world knowing because it’s been a relationship that everybody has an opinion on," Florence told Harper's Bazaar.
She went on, "We just felt something like this would really do us the benefit of not having millions of people telling us how happy they are that we’re not together. So we’ve done that."Previously, when she published an Instagram post honoring Zach's 45th birthday, she called out people who criticized their 21-year age difference. She claimed in an Instagram video that within eight minutes of the photo's posting, 70% of the comments were abusive, disgusting, and essentially bullied someone on her page.

She continued, "I will not allow that behavior on my page. I'm not about that. It makes me upset. It makes me sad. I'm 24 years old. I do not need you to tell me who I should and should not love. It is not your place and really it has nothing to do with you."
Afterward, she told Elle, "People need to realize that it's hurtful. I have the right to hang out and be with and go out with anyone I want to...People have no right to educate me on my private life."
"I know that part of being in the spotlight is that people might invade your privacy and have opinions on it, but it's bizarre that normal folk are allowed to display such hate and opinions on a part of my life that I'm not putting out there," she said.#2 Olivia Wilde has seen a lot of internet animosity and abuse since Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde were initially romantically connected in late 2020, notably due to their 10-year age difference.

He stated: "Being near to me makes you feel as though you are being held captive by some Twitter troll or whatever, which is certainly a horrible feeling to have. I only desired to sing. If I was going to damage others in that way, I didn't want to be involved."

He described how he discusses the possibility of internet abuse in his love relationships as follows: "Can you imagine going on a second date with someone and being like, 'OK, there's this corner of the thing, and they're going to say this, and it's going to be really crazy, and they're going to be really mean, and it's not real.… But anyway, what do you want to eat?'"Olivia noted in the identical interview, "What puzzles me about the harshness you mention is that Harry and all he puts out there are the antithesis of that toxic negativity. Personally, I don't think his fan following is defined in the least by the hostile vibe. Most of them are genuine benevolence champions."

He continued by saying this: "#SometimesIHateTwitter when it turns into a place to be rude to people you've never met or who have never done anything to you. To all those individuals who will be d**ks and tweet her offensive material right now simply because I brought it up: boring, grow up."
He added, "To all those people who are nice, thank you so much. She often reads me nice things people say to her, and it makes me smile love, you guys."

She remarked to Cosmopolitan, "It caused us both such great pain. This is meant to be advantageous. Why are you going after someone who is not involved in this narrative? Why would you harm someone I love if you claim to support me?"

#9 Despite the fact that Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber have been married since 2018, one of his fans claimed that he was "NOT in love with Hailey" and had only married her to avenge his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez after seeing a cute photo of her on Instagram in 2019.

The commenter also slut-shamed Hailey, accused her of using men for fame, and accused her of being racist.Justin retorted: "You lack maturity, and it is completely insane that you maintain an account only for criticizing my wife and me. Why would I spend my entire life in marriage to someone only to get even with my ex?"

He said, "Anyone who believes this is mean-spirited or 10 years old or younger because a logical person doesn’t talk or think this way, you should be ashamed of yourself."He went on, "I will always have a special place in my heart for Selena, who I adored and still do. But my wife, with whom I am completely in love, is the BEST THING that has ever occurred to me, bar none."
Source: Robert Kamau / GC Images / Via Getty
"This is a reply to all immature sick people who send Hailey hurtful messages like, 'He always goes back to Selena,' or 'Selena is better for him,' YOU HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT MY LIFE AND WHAT'S GOOD FOR ME!! " he said. "Hailey is my bride, period. And if you don’t like that, or support that, that means you don’t support me and if you don’t support me, you’re not a fan nor a good person."Later that year, Hailey spoke up about the negative effects Justin's followers' comments have had on her mental health. She disclosed to Vogue Australia, "You can't help but think, "Does someone see something that I don't see?" when you receive remarks like, "He's never going to this," "You're never going to that," and "You'll be divorced by then." It tends to cloud your judgment."

Referencing a recent post Pete Davidson had made about cyberbullying, she said, "I just don't like that bashing online thing. ... I wouldn't want my [baby's] father to have that feeling."She went on, "I am aware of how agonizing it is to endure daily criticism from millions of people. That bothers me, and it doesn't improve my mood."

#11 Some of his followers started to disparage her online when Outer Banks actor Rudy Pankow and show assistant Elaine Siemek made their relationship public in 2021.
Source: Jon Kopaloff / Getty Images
The specifics of the criticism Elaine received were vague, but some fans charged that she leaked Rudy's photos to fan accounts.

Rudy claimed that none of their allegations were true. He stated on Instagram, "It has reached a point where lies are being told and accusations made that go above and beyond the usual "hate." She is not only not what is being charged against her; rather, she actively opposes it."
Source: @rudeth
He continued, "Accusing someone you don't know of being abusive and manipulative is not ok, especially when you don't know the relationship personally."#12 Although Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been married since 2018 when they first made their relationship known, Meghan was subjected to a "wave of abuse and harassment."
Source: Michael M. Santiago / Getty Images
Harry responded by issuing a statement expressing his worry for Meghan's security. It said, "Over the previous week, a line was crossed. A surge of hatred and harassment has been directed toward his girlfriend, Meghan Markle. Some of this has been made extremely public, including the slander on the front page of a national daily, the undertones of racist commentary, and the overt sexism and racism of commenters on websites and social media."
Source: Samir Hussein / WireImage / Via Getty
"Some of it has been hidden from the public — the nightly legal battles to keep defamatory stories out of papers; her mother having to struggle past photographers in order to get to her front door; the attempts of reporters and photographers to gain illegal entry to her home and the calls to police that followed; the substantial bribes offered by papers to her ex-boyfriend; the bombardment of nearly every friend, co-worker, and loved one in her life."Prince Harry is worried about Ms. Markle's safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her. It is not right that a few months into a relationship with him that Ms. Markle should be subjected to such a storm. He knows commentators will say this is 'the price she has to pay' and that 'this is all part of the game.' He strongly disagrees. This is not a game — it is her life and his.

He has asked for this statement to be issued in the hopes that those in the press who have been driving this story can pause and reflect before any further damage is done. He knows that it is unusual to issue a statement like this, but hopes that fair-minded people will understand why he has felt it necessary to speak publicly, it concluded.

#13 Singer Sierra Deaton and vocalist Luke Hemmings of Five Seconds of Summer began dating in 2018 and were engaged in 2021. A 5SOS fan cyberbullied Sierra by identifying her in a tweet that compared her appearance to Abby Mallard from Chicken Little a year into their relationship.

Luke answered, "I see things like this far too frequently. It saddens me that some ladies make other women feel inadequate."

He went on, "Every day, those who preach about compassion and being politically correct hurt someone I care about. I'm aware that not everyone experiences this, but I wanted to make a statement because I frequently see it."

#14 Robert Pattinson and FKA Twigs began dating in 2014, and they briefly got engaged before calling it quits in 2017. Twigs was "genuinely shocked and disgusted at the amount of racism" permeating her Twitter remarks when they were dating.
Source: Samir Hussein / WireImage / Via Getty
Robert revealed to NME in 2015, "When I was discussing this with my dad, I bet him that the first comment on a YouTube search for Nelson Mandela's funeral would be one that was racist. And it received a whopping million upvotes. Why I don't understand."
Source: Matt Winkelmeyer / Getty Images
He continued, "I think it’s because most normal people are not commenters – I’ve never met anyone who’s left a comment on anything. It’s just demons who live in basements. You have this weird thing where you end up trying to fight against this faceless blob, where the more you hate it, the bigger it gets because it’s all in your head."
He later revealed to The Howard Stern Show in 2017: "[The fans who send Twigs racist messages] become so dependent on the desire to hurt and antagonize others. One of the hardest things to know how to deal with is it. It's an anonymous foe... It might seem fake to them, but it's real in your life."
Source: Neilson Barnard / Via Getty
He also said that responding to the hate on her behalf would be "feeding it" and compared it to "trying to attack a reflection in the water."Twigs said, "He was their white Prince Charming and I think they considered that he should definitely be with someone white and blonde and not me." in an interview with BBC Radio 4's Grounded with Louis Theroux in 2021.

She also said, "I feel like if I was going through it now, I would be able to talk about it and do some good with it. But I don't know whether it was because of my age or because of the social climate or being Black and from Cheltenham and a low-income family, and having to genuinely work twice as hard at everything I do to get a seat at the table."#15 Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder have been married since 2015, but when they first started dating in 2014, his Instagram comments were filled with hate for her.
Source: Taylor Hill / FilmMagic / Via Getty
Ian responded to the harsh remarks by saying, "Do you DEPRIVE NIKKI REED? Really? Does she know you? I'm not sure that you do, hmm."

"Look on her Instagram feed or Twitter and all you will see is a compassionate and beautiful human being. Please put your negative energy elsewhere. You don't even know the person you're talking about," he continued."Are you concerned with me? You should ask yourself that. What is the solution? Is the answer yes? If so, congratulate me if it is. Stop spreading this garbage throughout the world; it is harmful "said he.
Source: Michael Tran / FilmMagic / Via Getty
He concluded, "Do some research on the person you say sucks or you HATE. You'll find that she's a magical person doing great things in the world. I'm sickened and saddened by the fans' response to all this. Many fans have stood up [to] people like you and tried to empower you with some compassion. If we all thought a little or [learned] a little about people before we spoke about them, the world wouldn't be so upside down and in the worst place in history. If you hate Nikki then you must hate me...That's sad. Have an amazing day!"#16 Eniko Parrish and Kevin Hart wed in 2016, but before their nuptials, anonymous Instagram commenters accused her of being a gold-digger.

Kevin responded to the remarks by saying, "While you're hurting your brains worrying about us, all of you negative, miserable, put your page on private b*tches should be asking yourselves: ARE WE CONCERNED ABOUT YOU?"

He went on, "The reply is categoricallly no. Now, have a great day of pessimistic thinking."

#17 Actor Charlie Hunnam from Sons of Anarchy and jewelry designer Morgana McNelis have been dating since 2005. However, in 2016, a few of his supporters made derogatory remarks regarding Morgana's looks and the status of her relationship with Charlie.
Source: Kevin Winter / Via Getty
Charlie then criticized them on his Facebook page. He stated: "A sizable amount of harsh words directed against my longtime partner [had been posted] by a bunch of immature ladies... I kindly request that you cease doing this."
Source: Michael Tran / FilmMagic / Via Getty
He continued, "She is an intelligent, beautiful, kind person who just tried to live a simple life and has nothing to do with the Entertainment industry. If you want to talk sh–, talk sh– about me, leave her out of it."The thing that puzzles him the most, he added, "What is most confusing is that these negative and totally unprovoked attacks appear to be coming from the people who call themselves my fans,"
Source: Mark Sullivan / WireImage / Via Getty
"Think about the logic of this for a moment. This is a girl I love very much and have spent the last 11 years of my life with and hope to spend the next 60 years with. She has been my loyal and supportive partner long before I had any success or money. Why would you attack her out of admiration for me? It makes no sense," he concluded. Some fans questioned whether Charlie actually made the post and claimed Tina Lou, who allegedly ran the page, wrote it in their comments. So, he stated in a video, "She was tasked with posting a message for me. I'm the source of it. The idea I was trying to get across was simply that life can be very difficult without people going out of their way to be mean to one another, which is sort of the exact opposite of the fact that [she] is getting harassed for doing that."
Source: Vivien Killilea / Getty Images for Lionsgate
He continued, "I don’t do social media...the genesis of it was a way to create a forum for people to make new friends...to express different ideas...not as a new forum for bullying which seems unfortunately to be an unpleasant side effect of it."#18 After a relationship ends, some celebrities still defend their ex-partner. For instance, after dating for two years, Cara Delevingne and Ashley Benson called off their relationship, and Cara was quick to criticize the fans who thought Ashley should have moved on with G-Eazy.

Cara wrote on her Instagram story, "Sending love instead of hate is more crucial than ever. Please quit criticizing [Ashley], everyone."

You don't know the truth; only she and I do, and that's precisely the way it should be, she said.

Ashley posted the remark to her own account along with an emoji of a red heart.

#19 And finally, Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson broke up in October of the same year they began dating in May 2018 and shortly became engaged. Pete's mental health suffered when some of Ariana's fans harassed him for months in person and online after their separation.
Source: Nicholas Hunt / Getty Images for MTV
He stated on Instagram, "I've refrained from speaking. Never speak negatively about anybody or anything; never used any names. I'm trying to p out why, if a male experiences something, the entire world simply disparages him without considering any relevant context or information."
Source: Robert Kamau / GC Images / Via Getty
He continued, "Especially in today's climate where everyone loves to be offended and upset it truly is mind-boggling."He said that the main reason he publicly discussed his borderline personality disorder and suicidal thoughts was "only in the hopes that it will help bring awareness and help kids like myself who don’t want to be on this Earth."
Source: Jeff Kravitz / FilmMagic / Via Getty
He said, "I just want you guys to know. No matter how hard the internet or anyone tries to make me kill myself. I won’t. I’m upset I even have to say this. To all those holding me down and seeing this for what it is — I see you and I love you."On her own Instagram account, Ariana reposted his message and called out the bullies. She stated: "Even if you already know this, I feel the need to encourage my supporters to treat people with more kindness. I honestly don't support anything but forgiving others and being optimistic. I'm quite concerned about Pete's well-being. Even online, I'm pleading with you to treat people with more respect."
Source: David Crotty / Patrick McMullan via Getty Images
She continued, "I've learned thru my own mistakes not to be reactive on socials so I do understand. But you truly don't know what anybody is experiencing ever. Regardless of what they choose to display on social media or how they may appear in public. I can promise you that. So please let whatever point you’re trying to make go."
