Yet curious? Let's jointly investigate this masterpiece and the artistic path of its father!
The legendary England-based cartoonist Mark Parisi has been drawing since the 1990s. The artist has always liked creating art since he was old enough to hold a crayon. The works of Gary Larson, Charles Schulz, and MAD magazine served as the main sources of inspiration for his cartoons. He draws inspiration from a variety of sources, including pandemics, popular culture, and animals. Before choosing graphic art as his degree at Salem State University, he did change his major for so many times. Mark truly thanked all of these people for incorporating his comics in their works, including Paul Newman, the Dixie Chicks, “Weird AI,” and Yankovic.
Parisi’s first art project, “Off the Mask,” was introduced in 1987. In addition to newspapers, it is currently printed in over 100 periodicals, greeting cards, and T-shirts. The series teaches us how to tell jokes that are lighthearted, funny in pictures, and applicable to our witty daily lives. The National Cartoonists Society honored the artist with its “Best Newspaper Panel” and “Best Greeting Cards” prizes in 2008, 2011, and 2017, respectively. Along with other endeavors, he is now collaborating with Kim Tomsic on The Truth About 5th Grade, a middle-grade book, as well as official Garbage Pail Kids sketch cards.
