A Man of Steel sequel is in development, and Mikey Sutton stated that the official name of this film is Superman during an interview on Syl Abdul's YouTube channel before this information was made public.
So it appears like the Superman movie is moving along at full speed. Even better, we were informed that Brainiac will serve as the major antagonist of the film. Then Cavill said that he wants to make Superman happier in the future. He disclosed this in a recent Happy Sad Confused podcast conversation with Josh Horowitz. What Cavill has to say about it is as follows:

"The character means so much to me. It’s been five years now. I never gave up hope. It’s amazing to be here now talking about it again. There is such a bright future ahead for the character. I’m so excited to tell a story with an enormously joyful Superman."
However, there's more—we were informed that Henry Cavill will portray Superman in a number of DC films. At the moment, Cavill's Superman will appear in his stand-alone pictures, crossover flicks, and several TV series. That's a lot, but it seems like DC Studios is pushing Cavill's Man of Steel quite enthusiastically.
In the impending Man of Steel sequel, Cavill wants to produce, and it appears like DC Studios, James Gunn, and Peter Safran are cool with the concept. Since everyone saw Cavill's appearance in the Black Adam post-credits sequence, a lot has changed.
