6-2 Victory Over Iran In The Opening Match Of The World Cup
England were in superb form in their opening World Cup match in Qatar as Jude Bellingham put his side ahead in the 35th minute, before Bukayo Saka and Raheem Sterling extended the advantage to the Three Lions just before halftime.Saka scored his second after the hour mark, with Mehdi Taremi equalizing the goal for Iran a few minutes later. Substitutes Marcus Rashford and Jack Grealish brought the game into Gareth Southgate's pocket before Taremi netted a penalty in the 13th minute of stoppage time.
But England have had to worry about injuries after captain Harry Kane was brought on for the second half of the Three Lions' 6-2 win over Iran on Monday.

Kane, who provided two assists in the game but couldn't get his name on the scoresheet, injured his ankle after a rough tackle from Morteza Pouraliganji in the 48th minute. And he finally left the field in the 76th minute, with Callum Wilson coming in for him.Gareth Southgate has provided an update on Harry Kane's injury during England's World Cup opener against Iran.
Kane was substituted in the second half of England's win over Iran shortly after he limped across the field after a poor tackle by an Iranian player.
The England striker was later spotted with an ankle strap after the game, as seen below, with England fans around the country sweating profusely awaiting updates on the severity of injury.
Now, Southgate has provided an update on Kane's injury, and that's good news for England fans.

“Other than that haven’t seen anything of concern [about injuries]… I think Harry [Kane]’s fine,” said Southgate, as quoted by Dan Kilpatrick.Thankfully, Kane's injury doesn't sound too bad but with just a few days of recovery before England's next game against the US, Southgate may have to manage his training workload.
England have Callum Wilson on the bench, but Kane is a mainstay of England's play and his scoring record speaks for itself. Wilson has been in superb form for Newcastle this season, but his lack of experience with England and especially in leagues could be a concern.
