Carolyn Mullet

Cartoons capture the attention of both enthusiastic children and adults throughout the world. It is not strange that plenty of famous cartoon movies and series have been remade in many different countries. Furthermore, they don't look the same at all. Each version has remarkable designs, artwork styles, animation effects, and character building. Even the content can vary in different nations.

We can't assure you that all the adaptions are good, but it will be joyful and nostalgic to check them out quickly by scrolling down and reading this piece from head to toe.
Cartoon heroes and friends, what do they look like if they come from other countries? Let's find out right away!

#1. Pinocchio (USA) Vs Buratino (Russia)

Source: Disney, Soyuzmultfilm

We have: Buratino=Pinocchio, Malvina=Blue Fairy(?), Cricket=Jiminy Cricket, Alice the Fox=Honest John, Basilio the Car=Gideon, Papa Carlo=Gepetto. And the stories are interestingly unalike in many points, so if you fall for Pinocchio, be sure to watch Buratino!

#2. Ratatouille (USA) Vs Ratatoing (Brazil)

Source: Pixar, Vídeo Brinquedo

Rating is barely not a good movie. It was created in just four months by Brazilian animation studio Vídeo Brinquedo, to be released in the same month as winning-Oscar Ratatouille, the restaurant-and-rat-themed film by Pixar.

#3. Scooby-Doo (USA) Vs Goober And The Ghost Chasers (Australia)

Source: Hanna Barbera

Both films came from the same company Hanna Barbera. Fans assume that Scooby-Doo was a big hit then so the producers wanted to “milk” the content more for profit. And of course, Scooby-Doo was still the best.

#4. The Lion King (USA) Vs Jungle Emperor Leo (Japan)

Source: Disney, Tezuka Productions

It is a huge controversy between those two. We don’t know whether it is true or not, but we sure are in love with both. And if you love the Disney movies about Simba, check out the Japanese one and the manga Kimba the White Lion by  Osamu Tezuka.

#5. Pokemon (Japan) Vs Dogmons (Brazil)

Source: TV Tokyo, Levi Interval Light

When we talk about Pokemon (that just ended after 25 years), we remember Digimons. Both series are from Japan and are very successful. However, we barely know in Brazil, they created a similar dueling-monster series called Dogmons. Wow, we wonder who was in charge of that title.

#6. The Simpsons (USA) Vs The Samsonadzes (Georgia)

Source: 20th Television, Imedi TV

While The Simpsons rocked the TV in the US, The Samsonadzes stormed in Georgia. Both series are uproarious and are about “a yellow-skinned cartoon family, consisting of a dopey husband”, but they are never alike.

#7. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (USA) Vs Kung Fu Dino Posse (Canada, South Korea, German)

Source: Nickelodeon, Cookie Jar Entertainment

Kane= Leonardo, Lucy= Venus De Milo, Jet= Michelangelo, Chow= Raphael, Edgar= April O'Neil, Skor= Shredder, Skrap= Bebop and Rocksteady.
Kids just love both. One is funny and exciting, the other is colorful and a bit predictable. Enjoy them with your kids, siblings, cousins, or nephews and nieces!

#8. Doraemon (Japan) Vs Keymon Ache (India)

Source: TV Asahi, Nickelodeon India

Doraemon is a cartoon representative of Japan. While he won millions of hearts throughout the world, Nickelodeon India was inspired to air a similar series called Keymon Ache. And even Keymon came from Japan in the Indian cartoon.

#9. Super Sentai (Japan) Vs Power Rangers (USA)

Source: Toei Company, Fox

Since Power Rangers derives most of its footage from the Super Sentai series, it features many hallmarks that distinguish it from other superhero series. Each series revolves around a team of youths recruited and trained by a mentor to morph into super forms.

#10. Peppa Pig (UK) Vs Wolfoo (Vietnam)

Source: Entertainment One, WOA Entertainment

"Wolfoo" is an English-language YouTube preschool animated web series about a young wolf and his anthropomorphic family. British preschool TV show "Peppa Pig" features an anthropomorphic piglet and her family. Both animated series have amassed tens of millions of subscribers and billions of YouTube views.

#11. SpongeBob SquarePants (USA) Vs Coconut Fred's Fruit Salad Island (UK, USA)

Source: Nickelodeon, Kids' WB

A huge battle was waged when Coconut Fred was aired. On the other hand, kids seemed to enjoy both. Rip-off or not, good or bad, we leave it to you to decide.

#12. The Powerpuff Girls (USA) Vs Powerpuff Girls Z (Japan)

Source: Cartoon Network, Toei

Both shows are about three cute heroines fighting against villains to protect the city and both are so good. Their side stories are interesting as well.

#13. Adventure Time (USA) Vs Lucky Pie (China)

Source: Cartoon Network, Yimumu & Tim Chan

ADVENTURE TIME, like many other modern animations from the United States, seems to be suffering from a lack of creativity when it comes to shots and angles, this is one area that LUCKY PIE is definitely superior. We highly recommend giving them a watch.

#14. Aladdin (USA) Vs Aladdin And The Magic Lamp (Japan)

#15. Beauty And The Beast (USA) Vs Scarlet Rose (Russia)
