10 Roles Famous Actors Wish They Had Never Played

Sharon McFadden

Everybody makes mistakes. Movie stars are no exception to this rule. Sometimes they choose the wrong role and have to play characters they don’t want to. Most actors rarely talk about these regrettable choices, and the ones who talk about them are brutally honest. So let’s see what these stars have to say about the roles they wish they had never played.

Deadpool is one of Ryan Reynolds’s most famous roles. However, it used to be one of his most-hated roles too. His portrayal of the character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine still haunts him until this day. The actor admitted that it was “a frustrating experience” for him because he felt very forced. “It was sort of like, ‘Play Deadpool in this movie, or we’ll get someone else to.’”

2. Robert Pattinson

Robert Pattinson becomes famous after his part in Twilight, but he isn’t a big fan of his character. In fact, the actor hates Edward Cullen so much that he even describes the character as “the most ridiculous person” ever. Jennifer Garner played Elektra in the 2003 movie Daredevil. She even returned to bring the character to life in the sequel, but things weren’t going her way. The Help is a great movie. Viola Davis did a great job with her role in that film, but the actress wasn’t satisfied with her performance. She admitted that the movie failed to focus on the voices of the maids. “I want to know what it feels like to work for white people and to bring up children in 1963, I want to hear how you really feel about it. I never heard that in the course of the movie,” she said.

5. Blake Lively

Serena van der Woodsen is one of Blake Lively’s most famous roles. However, Lively is the complete opposite of her character in real life. Audiences might love Serena, but the actress always felt compromised on a personal level with the role. “I wanted to give a better message,” Lively claimed.

Similar to Robert Pattinson, Jamie Dornan gained a lot of fangirls after his performance in 50 shades. However, the movie star admitted that it was not a pleasant experience for him. Sandra Bullock didn’t like being a part of Speed 2: Cruise Control, and she was unafraid to show her loathing. The actress openly criticized the movie, saying “I’ve been very vocal about it. Makes no sense. Slow boat. Slowly going towards an island.”

Gwyneth Paltrow thinks her role in Shallow Hal is pretty embarrassing. The fat suit made her feel humiliated and depressed. “No one would make eye contact with me because I was obese,” Paltrow claimed.
