We supposed that all of us have strong female role models that we occasionally look up to and use as role models. They may already be around us like our beloved mothers, sisters, friends, businesswomen, etc. But how often have we regarded female characters who have starred in TV and film history and said, "Yes, she is brilliant!" (We bet there also many as well!) And a female character needs to be more than just physically attractive in order to be considered that impressive. To make audiences feel a connection with her, this character needs to be compelling and deep.
Some characters are quite apparent in their specialness, while others may appear somewhat surprising to some of us. Nani is a realistic portrayal of an orphaned 19-year-old girl trying to make ends meet and provide the best life she can for her younger sister and herself. Trying to balance her social/romantic, work, and personal life and being forced to grow up and take responsibility fighting CPS to keep her only family left together, all the while facing alien shenanigans that occur.
