Everybody is familiar with the Disney gang. The majority of us undoubtedly feel conflicted about our feelings about today's most popular children's television shows and movies. Popular ps are often reimagined by artists who place them in new contexts, such as in parodies of movie posters or in works that give them more human qualities. On Instagram, user @onefairyfail has been posting a series dubbed "Phone Fairy Fails," in which they imagine the mishaps that might occur if Disney characters had access to modern communication devices.
"Basically, I get great joy in the act of writing amusing moments, and I find them to be the funniest when they are grounded in reality and easy for me to connect to. I was mindlessly browsing social media when the inspiration struck: seeing all these selfies that people post with these face filters on sparked a cascade of related thoughts." As OneFairyFail put it:
"Other FairyFAILS (that's how I refer to my works) came to me as I was watching "Dirty Dancing" and lamenting the fact that most people my age haven't seen any of the cult classics that inspired them. I pd that by using well-known cartoon characters in iconic moments from these films, I might both draw attention to them and encourage people to watch them, evoking feelings of nostalgia in the process."
