Some celebrity couples have been together for a long time and have completely debunked the doubters. The strong bonds between these two have lasted for decades, defying all odds and giving us these wonderful old pictures to enjoy.

#1 Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas: Then

Despite having a 25-year age gap, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas immediately recognized their love as genuine. They were introduced at a 1998 French film festival by their mutual friends Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith. They were married before the year's end of 2000, and Dylan, who is now 20 years old, was their first child. Their now-18-year-old daughter Carys was born three years later.

The stars are still together in 2021 after enduring sicknesses, domestic disputes, and even a separation back in 2013. Jamie Lee Curtis revealed of husband Christopher Guest, "I married Chris five months after seeing his picture in Rolling Stone," while speaking to fellow actor Sigourney Weaver for a story in an Interview. She left her phone number for the This Is Spinal Tap actor after discovering they had the same agent. They quickly came across each other at a restaurant even though he hadn't called. The following day, he called her, and they were married in 1984.

With 37 years of marriage, Curtis and Guest are role models for those seeking a long-lasting Hollywood relationship. Curtis revealed the straightforward rule for maintaining a marriage Today in 2015: "Don't get divorced."

After a few years of dating, comedian Ellen DeGeneres and Arrested Development actress Portia de Rossi decided to move their relationship further in 2004 after running into each other once more at a picture session. De Rossi, who is shown above with DeGeneres at the 2006 Daytime Emmys, later admitted to The Advocate that DeGeneres had a major influence on her decision to come out.

Immediately after it became legal in California in 2008, the pair were married. When allegations that the talk show host was fostering a toxic workplace started to surface last year, her wife of 12 years posted in support of DeGeneres.

#4 Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar: Then

Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar got along when they featured in the 1997 slasher film I Know What You Did Last Summer. Both actors were enormous teen idols at the time. It was a minor difficulty that brought them together; Prinze drove Gellar around because she didn't have a driver's license at the time, and that's when they realized how much they had in common. The two actors have been married since 2002 and have two children together, Charlotte, 11, and Rocky, 8. Gellar shared a black-and-white photo of their wedding on Instagram with the touching remark, "You... are my favorite husband," on their 18th wedding anniversary last year.

#5 Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell: Then

Although the 1966 family film The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band is a very obscure Disney production, it is significant in the development of Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell's romance. But since Hawn was 21 and Russell was 16 at the time, nothing occurred. It wasn't until they collaborated once more on the 1984 film Swing Shift, whose production had begun in 1983, that their love story officially began. This picture was taken at the Carlyle Hotel in New York City.

Since then, Hawn and Russell have officially been dating. After their first date, they moved in together. Wyatt, their 34-year-old son, and their three children from other unions make up their family.
Because they don't consider marriage to be all that significant to their relationship, Russell and Hawn have never been married. Hawn expounded on their stance in a 2020 interview with the British talk show Loose Women (via Elle), saying, "For me, I chose to stay, Kurt chose to stay, and we like the choice."

#6 Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart: Then

A few years after his divorce from his second wife, Melissa Mathison, Harrison Ford first met Calista Flockhart at the 2002 Golden Globe Awards. A few months later, the Ally McBeal and Indiana Jones actors went public, showing up arm in arm at events like the K19: The Widowmaker premiere.

Despite some obstacles (which are detailed in Beyoncé's Lemonade album), it seems like she and Jay-Z are closer than ever. Along with their three children—a 3-year-old twin named Rumi and Sir and a 9-year-old named Blue Ivy—they have been married for almost 13 years.

The British actor Emily Blunt and The Office actor John Krasinski were fortunate to visit the same restaurant on a crucial night in 2008, though not together. During that evening, they were introduced by a common friend, and things immediately heated up.

In 2010, Blunt and Krasinski got married at the home of pal George Clooney in Lake Como, Italy, and have been married ever since. When Blunt co-starred with her husband in the thriller A Quiet Place, which he also wrote and directed, the couple gave birth to a different kind of child in 2018. When Kyra Sedgwick was 12 years old, she attended a performance, and afterward, she waited outside to congratulate one of the actors, who just happened to be Kevin Bacon. When they were cast in the movie Lemon Sky in 1987, the two reconnected as adults. Even though Sedgwick wasn't sure if she wanted to date Bacon, she eventually agreed. They were wed in 1988.

After 32 years, Sedgwick and Bacon's marriage is still going strong and is one of Hollywood's longest-lasting. Sedgwick revealed to Glamour in 2019 that one of the reasons they have been able to stay together is that they don't enjoy getting into arguments with one another.
Travis, a composer, age 31, and Sosie, an actor, age 28, are the couple's two children.

#10 Kevin Kline and Phoebe Cates: Then

During the casting process for 1983's The Big Chill, Phoebe Cates first met Sophie's Choice star, Kevin Kline. She didn't get the part; he did, and that might have been the end of it. But a few years later, Cates and Kline found themselves back in one other's company, and by 1989, they were engaged.

After walking down the aisle over 30 years ago, the couple is still going strong. They reside in New York and have two children, Owen Kline and Greta Kline. Kline continues to work in the film and television industries, but Cates has stopped performing. She has had her shop since 2005. However, the couple does occasionally walk the red carpet together, such as at the 2017 Tony Awards, when Kline took home the Best Actor award for his work in Present Laughter.

#11 Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker: Then

When Sarah Jessica Parker's brothers introduced her to Matthew Broderick, who was directing a production for their New York theater company, she had just ended a relationship with Robert Downey Jr. The Ferris Bueller star called and asked her out a few months later, in 1992.

Parker and Broderick got married in 1997 and have three children together. Before the epidemic shut down live theater, the actors were supposed to collaborate on a Broadway revival of the play Plaza Suite.

Even though Hill was engaged to another person at the time, they had chemistry when she opened for country music singer Tim McGraw on tour in 1996. To pursue something special with her tourmate, the "This Kiss" singer soon ended that other relationship. The two got married before the year was up. Just a few weeks before their unexpected wedding, they made their public debut together in this charity gala photo.

Anything that was in the air during that tragic tour undoubtedly persisted. With three children—Gracie, 23, Maggie, 22, and Audrey, 19—as well as countless musical collaborations, the celebrities have been happily married for close to 25 years.

Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks first met when she appeared as a guest star in his series Bosom Buddies in 1981. Years later, though, Hanks revealed that he had known Wilson for much longer and had a crush on her because of a 1970s Brady Bunch episode she had appeared in. However, the actors didn't begin dating until they had a role in the 1985 film Volunteers. In 1986, after splitting from Samantha Lewes, an actor, Hanks and Wilson started appearing together in public. The picture above was taken at the Three Amigos movie premiere in that same year.

Since their marriage in 1988, Hanks and Wilson have had two children: rapper Chet Hanks and actor Truman Hanks. (Hanks also has two kids from his marriage to Lewes, one of which is actor Colin Hanks.) After more than three decades together, the pair remains strong.

Victoria Adams first met footballer David Beckham at a charity match while the Spice Girls were still active. The famous couple made an engagement announcement at a press conference around a year later, in 1998.

#15 Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith: Then

One of the most fateful ways to meet someone is to audition for the role of your future spouse's partner in a movie. Jada Pinkett eventually missed out on the job of Lisa on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air to Nia Long, which is how the two people met in 1994. The two started dating after Will divorced his first wife, Sheree Zampino Fletcher.
Pinkett and Smith got married in 1997, and by 1998, she was expecting their first child. They welcomed their daughter Willow in 2000, which was three years after Jaden was born.
