Homelessness is a global challenge. 1.6 billion people live in substandard housing, according to the United Nations Human Settlements Program, and the best figures indicate that more than 100 million people have no home at all. Every country has homelessness, which is on the rise and has detrimental effects on both individuals and society. An increased risk of victimization, poor health, loneliness, and depression, for instance.
Acknowledging that issue, a Brazil-based hairdresser came up with an intriguing project. He visits the streets at least three times every week to look for folks he might be able to assist. In an effort to help those people feel better, even if they can't afford a trip to the salon, he offers free makeovers to them.
