This online community is dedicated to bizarre photographs that have been purposely taken out of context. In addition to posting photos, all of the threads are named "hmmm," and commenters regularly leave "hmmm" as a comment. Launched on December 2002 with the subtitle "Pics that make you go hmmm…", the subreddit now has roughly 1.9 million subscribers (who are called "internet aesthetes").
