When they are counting the people for the trip in Home Alone, they state there are a total of 17 persons. An odd number between two vans indicates that they will be divided by 8 and 9. Because Kevin was gone, both vans were reduced to 8 persons, leading each group to believe they were on the 8-person van and not suspecting anything.

Talia Shire was sick with the flu during filming and was afraid of making Sylvester Stallone sick, which is why Adrian hesitated to kiss Rocky at his apartment after their date. It turned out to be better than the planned sequence, therefore it was kept in the film.
