The road to success is challenging. No one in the world can reach the peak of success without any effort. Luck doesn't always favor us, so we have to get up and get going. Success is never easy for anyone and celebrities are no exception.
Before making it big in Hollywood, many lived in their cars, suffered family abuse, and simply encountered rejection after rejection. J.K. Rowling is worth introducing. Her well-known novel, Harry Potter, was rejected dozens of times until finally Bloomsbury, a small London publisher, gave it a second chance after CEO's daughter completely fell in love with it. Not only J.K. Rowling but other plenty of famous people had to face what people said and of course, confront their own insecurities and challenges.

Although Selena Gomez was known for her role in the children's television series “Barney & Friends”, she wasn’t feeling encouraged to go for adult acting roles. She shared, “I felt like it was very difficult for people to take me seriously… I have slowly pushed through that, and I’m really glad, but it was very frustrating. I felt like a joke, you know?”.

Jennifer Lopez confessed that she was the subject of mockery before getting famous. She said, “I just had really low self-esteem… I really believed a lot of what they said, which is that I wasn’t any good - that I wasn’t a good singer, I wasn’t a good actress, I wasn’t a good dancer”. However, after her golden popcorn trophy, many become her fans. She was so thankful for the people who gave her joy and the ones who broke her heart.

Marilyn Monroe had a tough childhood when spending her childhood in foster homes. Fortunately, she started getting famous thanks to a photographer. She quickly became the most glamorous actress of her time. Despite her traumas and the media who tried to break her down, she succeeded in both model and acting fields.

Harrison Ford didn’t receive support at the beginning of his career. He recalls the words of an agent he met back then: “There was a guy that was in charge of what they call the new talent program and he called me into his office and he said, ‘Sit down kid. I saw the rushes from yesterday. You’re never going to make it in the business. Just forget about it’”. Harrison Ford proved him wrong and became a successful actor.

Kate Winslet rose to stardom after starring in “Titanic”. However, things were not easy for her, especially at the beginning of her career. The actress was mocked due to her appearance. It caused her to miss leading roles. She put the negativity to one side and focus on acting. Eventually, she became a well-known actress.

A producer told Oprah Winfrey that she was unfit for television news. She was even fired from her job as a co-anchor on Baltimore’s WJZ-TV after 7 and a half months. The painful experience became a motivation for her to be the best version of herself. She shared, “I had no idea what I was in for or that this was going to be the greatest growing period of my adult life. It shook me to my very core.”

As a child, Shakira dreamt of being a singer. At age 7, she asked to join the choir in school but was rejected. Her teacher said she sounded like a “goat”. Additionally, her first audition was a disaster and the producer also told her that she would never succeed. The girl ignored all that nonsense and now she is famous for her extraordinary voice and dance moves.

Lady Gaga’s record label said she had no potential to become a famous singer. They dropped her before she released one song. It took great courage and strength to overcome words like that. The singer proved the ones wrong with best-selling albums like The Fame Monster and Born This Way. After her success, the producer who said she couldn’t be a singer, admitted that this is one of the biggest mistakes he’s ever made.
