It is common knowledge that Lady Gaga has a morbid dread of a ghost named Ryan. She's so afraid of ghosts that she's willing to shell out a lot of cash to get rid of them once and for all. A close friend of Gaga's told Glamour that the singer does not like to take chances, especially while on the road, due to her belief in the supernatural. Being protected from ghosts was crucial for Gaga's well-being. An Electro Magnetic Field detecting equipment, which retails for around $47,000, is one measure she has taken to protect herself from ghosts. It's still unclear why the ghost of Ryan wants to speak with the pop star.
2. Mike Tyson

Mike Tyson was wealthy and savvy with his cash. Due to his excessive spending, he quickly depleted the wealth he had amassed. He was on a shopping binge when he was younger, but his $2 million solid gold bathtub is his most extravagant purchase. Once married to Robin Givens, whose experience with Mike Tyson was described as "torture" and "absolute hell" by Givens in an interview with Barbara Walters, Tyson gave Givens a bathtub as a gift. We can only assume that the bath didn't help.

Blue Ivy was just a year old when her mother, Queen Bey, reportedly spent $85,000 on a Barbie doll for her. To celebrate their daughter's first birthday,
Beyoncé and
Jay-Z went all out. Since they are the undisputed hip-hop industry leaders, we can only assume that nothing is out of reach for the Hip Hop Royals. The doll was made to order and is rumored to be adorned with white gold jewelry and 160 diamonds.
4. O.J Simpson

OJ Simpson commissioned a statue of himself in his hubris. After losing a $33 million civil trial to Ron Goldman's parents, the statute had to remove. Mancow Muller bought the statue for $3,250 after O.J.'s bankruptcy auction. Flavor Flav still retains the statue Muller gave him. Flav tried to get O.J. to return the statue, but Simpson refused, stating it would be returned anyhow.
5. Kim Basinger

Kim Basinger, at the height of her celebrity in 1989, had the completely ordinary idea of purchasing a town and turning it into a tourist destination. Kim Basinger purchased the town of Braselton, Georgia, to establish film studios and a film festival to attract tourists. The New York Times claims Basinger paid $20 million to a group of investors to purchase 1,751 of the town's 2,000 total acres. However, things didn't work out as planned, and in 1993, she sold the town for $1 million.
6. Nicholas Cage

Certainly. Nicholas Cage. Nicolas Cage has bought albino cobras, an octopus, a Gulfstream jet, a $276,000 dinosaur skull, a private island, and a $1.6 million comic book collection. He bought a (allegedly) haunted mansion in New Orleans. Delphine LaLaurie's house was featured in AHS: Coven. Cage bought the home in 2006 but lost it in 2009.
7. Tom Cruise

Hey, it's that crazy couch-hopping Cruise again. When he's not trying to hold his breath for what seems like an eternity, he's leaping out of planes without a parachute. Happy moments. When Katie was expecting their daughter Suri, Cruise bought a sonogram machine for the home like a slightly overprotective dad-to-be. How well did he understand its use? Probably not, but that's irrelevant so long as your daughter is okay. Was that completely out of the ordinary? However, Tom Cruise's star power makes me think we can overlook this.
