10 Famous Stars Who Shared About Their Time Being Single And How To Find Joy In It

Being single equals being lonely. This idea is nothing new by now, especially if you’re a girl. Society taught us that women are not 'complete' or 'whole' without a partner. It’s been ingrained in our brain through media since a long time ago with countless rom-com showing us sad female characters looking miserable when they are alone while eating ice cream for comfort. The only time they look better is when vying for a man’s love and attention.
In reality, the truth is far from that. A recent study has found that unmarried women live longer and happier. In fact, the longest-living woman in history once said that being single is one of the secrets behind her longevity. Many celebrity women also show the world that you don’t need to be in a relationship to have a fulfilling life.
So let’s see who these famous stars share about being single

1. Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez shared on the Zach Sang Show about being single for years: “I’ve been super, super single for two years, and I want to know what the love will look like next for me. I want it to be real, and I don’t want it to be codependent or messy or [have] a lack of communication.”
In a 2020 interview with Nikkietutorials, Gomez told the Youtuber that she is “Just getting more and more comfortable with myself. I’ve definitely spent years and years faking that I had to be a certain way for sure." She also shared with TikTok that she was "totally fine" without being in a relationship.

And just one year later, in an interview with the New York Times, Rihanna again told everybody that she was still waiting for men not to be threatened by her power. Her famous words were: “Guys need attention. They need that nourishment, that little stroke of the ego that gets them by every now and then. If you think that being pressured to find a relationship by your family and friends is stressful, then Jennifer Aniston’s case is much worse than that. After her public split from Brad Pitt in 2005, the actress had to deal with pressure coming from the whole world.
In 2016, Jennifer Aniston’s essay for HuffPost was widely shared. The actress aimed at the tabloid speculation that followed her while showing how happy she was with being single.  Here’s what she wrote: “Here’s where I come out on this topic: we are complete with or without a mate, with or without a child. We get to decide for ourselves what is beautiful when it comes to our bodies. That decision is ours and ours alone. [...] We don’t need to be married or mothers to be complete. We get to determine our own ‘happily ever after’ for ourselves.”

Salma Hayek is one of a few Hollywood stars who only marry once. But before she found her true match, Salma Hayek once told Oprah, “Women have been taught that in order to have a place in the world, an identity, they must marry and have children.”
She continued, “It’s nice to have a relationship, but women have become addicted. You can have a relationship with God. With nature. With dogs. With yourself. And yes, you can also have a relationship with a man, but if it’s going to be a shitty one, it’s better to have a relationship with your flowers.”

8. Drew Barrymore

the actress also admitted to Bobby Berk that she didn’t know how to date with her already having kids. “I’m not there yet. I have 2 young girls and, like, I don’t want to bring people home,” she said. For Drew, her children come before any potential partners.
