7 Grumpiest Actors Who Were Fired During Filming

Things may go wrong on set, as any Entertainment industry member would attest. There are usually quite a few hiccups along the way, even though the gloss and glamour of the final product could suggest otherwise. The megastars themselves can occasionally serve as roadblocks.
Many famous actors have been let go for causing problems on site and ultimately being fired. Some of such events received extensive media coverage, while others were hidden from the public. Here are ten of the rudest actors ever fired during filming, let's scroll down to enjoy!

1. Charlie Sheen

The top spot goes to the biggest victor—or, more accurately, the biggest loser. Star of CBS's most famous comedy series, Two and a Half Men, Charlie Sheen was fired midway through the season for "dangerously self-destructive conduct," including allegedly calling the show's producer and co-creator, Chuck Lorre, a "clown" and a "dumb, stupid little man."
Sheen made public appearances after his firing. A series of furious TV and radio interviews in which he insisted that he is a "winner" and that his success is driven by "tiger blood" are probably more well-known.

2. Isaiah Washington

In the medical drama Grey's Anatomy, Dr. Preston Burke was a fan favorite—at least, he was until he was suddenly cut out of the main story. After using a homophobic slur to describe T.R. Knight (George O'Malley) in 2007, Isaiah Washington was fired on the spot. His character returned to Grey’s seven years later, sparking enormous controversy for the network. Whether or not his comeback was worth the PR nightmare is up for debate, but this famous person got a second chance on one of the most popular dramas on TV.

3. Maggie Roswell

Maggie Roswell is the voice of Maude Flanders on The Simpsons, so even if you don't recognize her face, you probably know her voice. Fox's A-lister claimed in an interview that she was let go because she wanted a pay increase, but the show's creators say otherwise. The voice actor reportedly left Fox because "she no longer wanted to commute to Los Angeles from her Denver home." Fox granted her request for a raise and added $125 to her previous $2,000 per episode salary. The "increase" insulted Roswell, so he quit the show.

4. Shannen Doherty

Beverly Hills 90210, a popular show in the 1990s, seemed to have a lot of attitude and drama on and off-screen. Shannen Doherty was known for getting into fights with other cast members on set. Doherty's co-star and the daughter of the show's producer, Tori Spelling, told what was going on. She said she had helped get Doherty fired and finally asked her father, Aaron Spelling, to end Doherty's contract.
Doherty's rude behavior followed her to her other roles. She famously fought with co-star Alyssa Milano in the 1998 show Charmed, which led to another dismissal because of bad blood.

5. Taylor Momsen

After four seasons of appearing in the smash series Gossip Girl, it was revealed that 17-year-old Taylor Momsen would take an "indefinite vacation" from the show. Momsen, who made her acting debut at age 7, was already notorious for her filthy language and outrageous behavior before the premiere of Gossip Girl. A source told Us Magazine that Momsen "It like a 9-5 no emotional connection" and was solely in it for the money. The show's producers had had enough of her "unreliable and erratic conduct" season after season.

6. Thomas Gibson

As the show's top "Hotch," Gibson was let go in 2016 after a confrontation on set. The CBS drama's lead actor allegedly kicked the show's producer, Virgil Williams, because of a disagreement over a disputed piece of dialogue. The cast had seen enough of Gibson's aggressive tendencies to know what to expect. In 2010, he had a similar physical outburst with the assistant director, which led to a bad reputation and anger management courses. Gibson's dismissal resulted from his disruptive behavior and his alcoholism.

7. James Remar

His most notable performances are those of supporting characters in movies and TV shows like Dexter and Sex and the City. In the film Aliens, James Remar was originally cast as Corporal Hicks, but Michael Biehn was cast in the role. There were good reasons to fire him. It was reported that Remar had left due to "creative issues" with director James Cameron. But it turned out that the real reason for his firing was that he was caught with narcotics on set.
