Doctor Strange 2: Every Variant Of Him Appears In Multiverse Of Madness

Doctor Strange: Multiverse Of Madness has introduced several versions of Doctor Strange from different universes. Check out all of these variants right below.

#1. Doctor Strange from Earth-616

This is Stephen Strange from the main timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His story takes place after the events of WandaVision and Spider-Man: No Way Home. Apparently, from phase 4, Marvel has been expanding MCU with the Multiverse. It means any character, superhero or villain, would have several different versions across the unlimited universe. Wanda, with chaos magic and the Darkhold, has become the Scarlet Witch. On purpose of capturing America Chavez, she uses the Darkhold to dreamwalk to find the new girl who can travel across the Multiverse. Therefore, Stephen from Earth-616 has to stop her from this mistake.

#2. Strange Supreme from Earth-838

He used the Darkhold to stop Thanos’ snap in Earth-838. For this reason, the Illuminati decided to execute him to withdraw the incoming crises. In his world, he was memorized as the greatest hero who put a stop to the Mad Titan’s plan. However, it does not mean that what he did was completely precise. The usage of the Darkhold would result in even worse tragedies.

#3. Sinister Strange

This variant lives solely on a collapsed world, mainly caused by him. He is the best example for the danger of the Darkhold. Using the magics from this book corrupts the user, in this case, this scary Doctor Strange. He has a toxic obsession with Christine and actually has asked the main Strange to exchange her as a solution. He somehow resembles the selfish, Christine-obsessed variants from the series What if…?. After fighting him with a losing effort (and a lot of high notes), Doctor Strange from Earth-616 successfully killed this variant. However, it was revealed that this variant had a third eye on his forehead. At the credits of the movie, we can see that there is also a third eye that appears on Stephen’s forehead as well. This will be the biggest question mark for the next movie of this character.

#4. Zombie Strange/Previously Defender Strange

Source: Marvel

He showed up right from the beginning of the movie. Defender Strange, as of his name, was defending America Chavez from a terrifying monster. Later on, Stephen had found out that this monster was actually created by Wanda.

He meant to absorb America’s power in an attempt to protect the universe. However, the monster defeated him and America brought his corpse to Earth-616 with her. There, she met with Wong and Stephen. Stephen buried him on a rooftop.

At the end of the movie, Stephen has to use the Darkhold to dreamwalk to stop the Scarlet Witch in Earth-616. Anyways, after much consideration because at that time, there is no version of him remaining there. He decides to use the body of Defender Strange, turning him into a zombie. It sounds like not a good idea but he succeeds in stopping Wanda. This Zombie Strange shares similarities to the zombie superheroes from episode 4 of What if…?, where superheroes are turned into zombies by a disease.
