10 Celebrities That Rose To Fame For No Reason At All

Since the introduction of reality television, there has been no shortage of celebrities who are renowned for no clear reason other than the fact that they are famous. You don't have to demonstrate any genuine talents or skills, or even achieve anything significant, in this new era of Entertainment. You simply have to be in the spotlight and say (or do) whatever it takes to stay there.
This is why most people think celebrities in Hollywood are divided into two types. The first is the group that genuinely worked and became renowned, whereas the second is made up of celebrities that became popular for no reason. Take Zsa Zsa Gabor and Snooki for example, they rose to fame, perhaps not because of talent, but most likely because of a reality show, a sex tape, or a relationship with someone more famous. As we will see, Internet popularity does not always imply well-deserved renown.
Let's get a closer look at these so-called “celebrities” with our list of ten celebs that you have no idea why they are famous.

#1 Amber Rose

Rose has released a few terrible songs and some fashion accessories throughout the years, but her fame stems from one thing and one thing only: dating rappers. Rose was in a relationship with Kanye West from 2008 until 2010, which resulted in extensive media coverage and her eventual celebrity. After they divorced, she dated and subsequently married rapper Wiz Khalifa, although they have since divorced as well. If you can't make it with your songs and fashion, a relationship with a celebrity will get you noticed.

#2 Paris Hilton

Paris is the great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton, founder of the well-known Hilton Hotels company, and it could be said that she essentially received a free ride in life because of his hard work and wealth. Following her debut as a model and the star of the sex tape "1 Night in Paris," she participated with pal Nicole Richie on the condescending reality show "The Simple Life," where they struggled to perform manual labor duties. Sure, she's had minor roles in films, but who's watched them? Critics have dubbed her a celebutante, an affluent family's child who receives great amounts of attention without accomplishing anything to deserve it. That sounds about right.

#3 Farrah Abraham

Why don't more individuals become adolescent mothers if they can make millions of dollars? We'll tell you what. Abraham rose to prominence in 2009 after appearing on the reality show "16 and Pregnant," and she then starred in four seasons of "Teen Mom," which follows the lives of teenage mothers. As if her celebrity wasn't ludicrous enough, she gained even more recognition when she sold a sex tape labeled "Farrah Superstar: Backdoor Teen Mom" for $1.5 million. Farrah, keep it classy.

#4 Kim Kardashian

Kardashian's father is a well-known defense lawyer, and her stepfather is an Olympic gold medalist. How did she become famous? Naturally, by starring in a sex video and exploiting her spoiled mentality. Kardashian masterfully parlayed that into a starring role on the reality show "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," catapulting her to fame. She gained even more attention after divorcing NBA player Kris Humphries after only 72 days of marriage. Her subsequent marriage to Kanye West cemented her status as a superstar who is famous for no reason.

#5 Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson

Alana Thompson, the alias Honey Boo Boo Toddler, rose to prominence as a child beauty pageant contestant on the reality series "Toddlers & Tiaras." She later had her own spinoff, before becoming the star of the infamous TLC show "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo." "Honey Boo Boo" follows Alana and her family, who are frequently attacked and portrayed as nasty hicks. Alana got recognition simply for being the offspring of a really fascinating family - entertaining in a gross kind of way - when she began her TV career at the age of six. But, let's face it, she's not exactly an angel.

#6 Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi

Snooki rocketed to prominence in late 2009 after appearing on the reality show "Jersey Shore," which followed a group of self-proclaimed guidos and guidettes as they partied and generally behaved like morons. One of them refers to himself as "The Situation." While she has eventually settled down with a husband and children, her celebrity stems from her outlandish party girl lifestyle and her famed orange skin. She was finally paid $150,000 every episode of "Jersey Shore," a hard-earned salary for carousing and trash-talking her pals. Where do I sign up?

#7 Kate Gosselin

Gosselin rose to international prominence after starring in "Jon & Kate Plus 8," a reality show that followed the couple as they tried to raise their eight children. That's essentially all she's renowned for, raising a big number of children on TV. While that does sound like a lot of work, it's not why she's remained popular. The story does not have a happy ending because Jon and Kate divorced, and Kate and her attention-seeking behaviors have become the reality show norm. She appeared on "Dancing With the Stars" and "Celebrity Apprentice," but was harshly criticized and was ousted from both. She just can't seem to get a break.

#8 Heidi Montag & Spencer Pratt

This celebrity power couple, known as Speidi, blew up the Internet in the mid-2000s when they starred in "The Hills," a show that chronicled the daily lives of women in Los Angeles. When Montag's connection with Pratt caused her friendship with housemate Lauren Conrad to crumble, the two were removed from the show owing to "erratic behavior." They're quite well-known for inciting high school drama. Heidi's celebrity expanded tremendously - as did other aspects of her - when she underwent 10 cosmetic operations in one day, and the duo has maintained their public profile by finishing as runners-up on "Celebrity Big Brother."

#9 Teresa Giudice

Teresa Giudice, the breakout star of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," is well known for her opulent lifestyle. She has also published three cookbooks and featured on "The Celebrity Apprentice," but it is her extravagant lifestyle that has brought her recognition and attention. Her wild ways came to a stop on January 5th, 2015, when she was sentenced to 15 months in federal prison for bank, mail, wire, and bankruptcy fraud. It appears that all wonderful things must come to an end.

#10 Bristol Palin

Being the daughter of a Vice Presidential candidate will undoubtedly bring you some attention, but not to the amount that Bristol has garnered throughout the years. During the 2008 Presidential Election, it was reported that Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol got pregnant out of wedlock at the age of 17. As a result, she received extensive media coverage and rose to stardom. She has since appeared on "Dancing With the Stars," featured in her own Lifetime reality show, and authored a memoir. Palin is currently residing in Alaska after calling off her engagement to her child's father. Twice.
