Mind-Blowing Differences: 15 Celebrities Whose Styles Changed Drastically From The 90s

Although there were many 90s fashion trends we wish we could forget, such as kimono dresses and skirts, there is no denying that the 90s trends are slowly slipping back into our life. These trends were bought back by celebrities and fashion icons such as Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Cindy Crawford, and more.
But how did the famous stars really look like back in the 90s? Well, some changed a lot and became much more glamorous, while others were stunning no matter which decade they were in. Let’s take a look at the celebrities who upgraded their look.

1. Cate Blanchett

As much as we love Cate Blanchett, we have to say that her style in the 90s didn’t suit her at all. That slate gray silk dress paired with an oversized blazer combo has done the opposite in flattering her figure. The faux flower in her side bang-swept hair was making her appear older than she was.
Nowadays Blanchett has a much more sophisticated style. Her outfits show us her sharpness and elegance. She has truly transformed into beauty on the red carpet.

2. Courteney Cox

No matter how beautiful Courteney Cox is, that 90s outfit can’t be saved. The silk ankle-length skirt with a sheer overlay paired with a form-fitting black tank top only makes her look, well, blocky.
These days, however, Cox has ditched the long skirt and goes for a fitted black suit instead. She even has a matching bag and heels to go with her outfit. This choice certainly upgraded her look, making her absolutely gorgeous.

3. Scarlett Johansson

Another star that was caught up in the 90s silk trend is Scarlett Johansson. The silver screen beauty was wearing a lavender silk kimono-style dress in the picture. It wasn’t a great look for her, but it was trendy back then.
Scarlett Johansson has upgraded her style a lot since then. The famous actress now can be seen on the red carpet with a stylish bob cut and vibrant outfits.

4. Angelina Jolie

Everybody knows that Angelina Jolie is a beauty icon. Her style seems to only get prettier each year. She still keeps her look elegant since the 90s, and has evolved more and more sophisticated in recent years. Among her most iconic looks in recent history are this Atelier Versace gown paired with soft waves and classic makeup. The dress also accentuates her figure, making her look even more stunning on the 2012 Oscars red carpet.

5. Kate Hudson

Hudson’s outfit in the 90s isn’t a great look on her. The lace crop top paired with the silk ankle skirt completely cover up her curves. The whole outfit just looks like it belongs to a Dollar store.
We can all agree that her outfit now is much better. The form-fitting dress makes her look more beautiful and accentuates her best features. The color also compliments her skin well.

6. Dakota Johnson

Young Dakota Johnson was the typical 90s fashionista. She was wearing a lavender kimono-style dress paired with a sweater which she casually threw over her shoulders. She even styled her hair in a messy bun on the back of her head.
Thankfully, she didn’t keep the style for long and soon transformed herself into a real fashion icon. Johnson’s bright white top when paired with the full skirt is graceful and as pretty as it can be!

7. Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga is known for her outlandish fashion. People just can’t forget about her skyscraper platform heels and her legendary meat dress. However, she was also a victim of 90s fashion trends back in the day like any celebrity. Her outfit in the left picture clearly doesn’t suit her at all!
Thankfully, her look only gets more and more stylish over the years. Nowadays she has swapped her controversial looks for high fashion and classic Hollywood glam.

8. Beyoncé

As her career grows, Beyoncé has also come a long way in terms of style. She still keeps the eye-catching elements in her outfits, but the singer has said goodbye to her mini-dresses, strappy heels, and over-the-top hair pieces. Nowadays she is looking more glamorous with a fashion-forward designer look, like this chic beaded number she wore to the Tidal X: 1015 concert in Brooklyn.

9. Jennifer Lopez

Another star who is always looking gorgeous no matter which decade she’s in is Jennifer Lopez. She rocked the red carpet in 1997, showing us what classic Hollywood glam should look like. Her silver hip-hugging dress looked absolutely gorgeous.
The singer still keeps her own fierce style up to this day. She is unafraid of using vibrant colors, showing off her bold looks during events. Her outfits are just stunning!

10. Claire Danes

Claire Danes really went full-on 90s in this picture. She got the spiked hair, the silk kimono dress, and even the classic red lipstick. However, the entire look is the total opposite of what should be worn on the red carpet.
Fortunately, the actress has since upped her game. She now stands in front of cameras with gorgeous gowns and stylish hair.

11. Nicole Kidman

It seems like Nicole Kidman has ditched her country girl look and goes for a more high-end chic style. The actress still keeps her dress formfitting though, and this is the right decision as it helps her show off her figure. She’s looking great for her age!

12. Sarah Jessica Parker

The layering style in Sarah Jessica Parker’s 90s photo is just bad. The blood-red corset just doesn’t fit with the silk floral dress at all. It certainly wasn’t Parker’s best look.
Her sense of fashion grew a lot over the years though. The actress has ditched the layering style along with the red corset. She chose a stunning red gown, complete with powerful statement shoulders and sheer black sleeves ending in ruffled red cuffs. We were all happy with the decision.

13. Britney Spears

Back in the 90s, girls would have done anything for those sequined pants. With those sequenced pink pants and matching tank tops, Britney Spears has become the fashion icon for many girls. If only she had butterfly hairclips and matching pink eyeshadow, she would have completed the ultimate 90s look.
But as time changed, so did Spears’ style. Long gone the day of sparkly pink pants. Nowadays she goes for beautiful and classy dresses.

14. Julia Roberts

Julia Roberts has been rocking the menswear style since the 90s. Bold, beautiful, and powerful, Roberts knew how to use the shoulder pads to make her look like a boss lady. Her stylish hairstyle is just the cherry on top.
The actress is still pulling off major looks in recent years. She is looking sharp as ever but has ditched the shoulder pads though.

15. Uma Thurman

Uma Thurman keeps her classy throughout the years. Her white coat in the 90s is just beautiful, very elegant yet glamorous. She really showed us how to dress as a Hollywood star. Thurman still stays true to her graceful style. The actress rocks every red carpet event she appears in, no matter how simple her outfit is.
