11 Celebrities Who Aren’t Shy About Revealing Their Struggles To Find Work

When seeing our favorite celebs shining on the stage or TV, it’s hard to believe they used to work on getting by. It’s time we realize they are just normal people. Even the brightest stars had to start with their simple first jobs before making it big.
There are a ton of regular jobs that famous people started and some of them are unusual. Some were also in the process of training to enter long-term careers, such as teaching or law before getting famous. When giving up their stable job and entering the Entertainment industry, many of them struggled with their jobs. While some always get the extra roles, others aren’t taken a chance because of their iconic characters.
We’ve gathered some stories of actors who are no strangers to job struggles and decided to share their experiences.

After portraying the character Ron Weasley in the Harry Porter films, Rupert Grint was thinking of becoming a carpenter. He shared, “I’ve always toyed with the idea of walking away from acting, and becoming a dad has increased those feelings”.

Susan Sarandon came under huge pressure when starting her career in the early 1970s. She had to experience ageism: “I was told you were done by the time you’re 40… I’m still working, and there are tons of other women working around my age, and the main reason for that is female producers and female writers and directors, and people who are willing to try and get money for a female-driven story where all the characters are not 22”.
