3 Apparent Reasons Why Sherlock Season 5 Should Not Happen

Sherlock is one of the most well-recognized TV series based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's detective stories. It has lasted for 4 seasons and Sherlock season 5 will likely happen. Why might it be a mistake?

#1. There Are Too Many Sherlock Holmes Works.

The British detective might be the most well-known literature character in the world. It inspired several media productions globally. There is an endless list of video games, movies, animations, and TV shows… which are Holmes-related. Reportedly, every 2 to 3 years, there is a new Sherlock Holmes work. Recently, Henry Cavill starred in Enola Holmes in 2020. Sherlock Holmes 3 featured Benedict Cumberbatch’s co-star in the MCU, Robert Downey Jr., and will also premiere shortly. The series is great, but the public might get bored after 4 continuous seasons.

#2. The Material Source Has Been Used Up.

What made the series captivating are the classic cases. The production team made major changes so they would fit in modern life. Therefore, 30 episodes of the series are rather adequate. Pushing the series to the 5th phase will probably put the team in a shortage of storyline ideas and creativity.

#3. The Last Two Seasons Did Not Do Well.

The 1st and 2nd seasons were amazingly praised for their plot and also the cast’s performance. The following seasons, in contrast, could not do the same. They received mixed to bad reviews for the messy storyline, several plot holes, and unreasonable character developments. As the series continues, there may be more disappointment. It would be great to reunite with Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman, and the rest of the cast. Anyways, the screenplay is still the most essential factor for the success of Sherlock season 5.
