After the incident, photos were posted showing Rihanna's bruised and swollen face. All of this stemmed from an event in the Hollywood Hills on July 12, 2020. In October of 2020, the district attorney's office publicly acknowledged the "gun accusation and that he inflicted significant physical damage" against Lanez. The maximum possible sentence for his conviction is 22 years and 8 months in state prison. He's disputed the allegations against him and entered a not-guilty plea.
