20 Celebrities Who Were Addicted To Alcohol And Died Of It

It's a fact that many celebrities are alcoholics and weed smokers. They even have been addicted to them for years. They consider alcohol and marijuana wonderful things to help them overcome struggles in life, enabling them to escape from reality for a while. While some celebs are open up about these habits, some decided to quit them for better physical and mental health. Some celebs said that giving up smoking and drinking makes them conscious and brings them more opportunities at work.
This list includes 20 celebrities who died from their addiction to alcohol. Some people say that alcoholism is simply a lack of self-control. In fact, it's an all-out addictive disorder. It is a disease. Jack Kerouac, Billie Holiday, Richard Burton, Peter Cook, and Errol Flynn all lost their lives to alcoholism. Drinking is ok. The point is you should never lose self-control in using it.

The stage and screen star Richard Burton was nominated for a record seven Academy Awards (without a win) during his career. The actor was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the kidneys and liver as the result of a long stint of alcoholism. He died on August 5, 1984 in his home in Switzerland.
