celebrities have even attempted suicide! Despite their success, fame, and fortunes, several famous stars have attempted suicide, either out of despair or frustration or for reasons that only they know.
Many of these celebs have completely recovered from their suicide attempts, but others are still struggling with the pressures of fame and disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder.
Furthermore, some were sadly successful with their suicide attempts, while others were not. Till now, we are still mourning the deaths of comedian Robin Williams and Linkin Park frontman, Chester Bennington. However, there are still Hollywood celebrities who attempted suicide but lived to tell the story.

Britney had the life she wished for since she was a kid. When kids her age were still considering a career, she had fame and money. Her marriage to Kevin Federline Jr. was on the rocks in 2006. However, Britney attempted suicide once while having a nervous breakdown by walking right into heavy traffic. Despite being rescued at the time, 'oops she did it again' the same year.

Clark Gable, the King of Hollywood and the symbol of male beauty and grace, had become a big star after the success of his war drama 'Gone With The Wind.' After two failed marriages, Gable married Carole Lombard and lost her in a plane crash. Gable became depressed and once in an attempt to end his life, went on a rampage on a high-powered motorcycle in 1942. He survived and continued to appear in several successful films.

The disco queen of the late 1970s and one of the world's best-selling artists, the 'On the radio' hitmaker attempted suicide by jumping from an eleventh-floor apartment in a New York City building. Although Donna was at the top of fame, her personal life was in chaos as the artist battled severe depression. While she admitted to trying to end it all, her maid came to rescue her just in time.

The 'E. T.' star had a difficult childhood. Her father was a drug addict, and when she was eight years old, her mother took her to nightclubs! Drew once said in an interview that she began drinking when she was nine and had her first relationship at thirteen. Drugs were a natural progression, and the actor was soon in intensive therapy at the age of 14 trying to clean up her act! When she came out clean and depressed, she attempted to slit her wrists with a kitchen knife.

While filming 'Cleopatra' in 1962, opposite the very handsome Richard Burton, the beautiful, doe-eyed actress fell for the star. Despite being married four times, Liz and Richard began a secret affair, which the latter unfortunately ended. Liz Taylor, who was upset, drunk, and depressed, attempted suicide by taking extra sleeping pills. She later admitted that she wanted to get away from everything.

This is perhaps one of the most well-known attempted suicides. The singer-songwriter was trying to come out of the closet at the time when doing so was still strongly discouraged. In addition, unable to cope with the pressures of fame and substance abuse, Elton John once hung his head over the switched gas stove and attempted to inhale the toxins.
He would not have gone on to collaborate with Taupin on the commemorative song 'Someone saved my life tonight' if his writing partner Bernie Taupin had not rescued him!

Slim Shady was a struggling rapper in 1996, and his debut album, 'Infinity,' was a flop. His personal life was also not going well. Kim Scott, his ex-girlfriend, dumped him.
Eminem, who was depressed as a result of the incident, was also unable to gain custody of his only daughter. He attempted suicide by overdosing on drugs because he was depressed. Fortunately, the once-suicidal rapper, known for not giving an Eff about anything, survived. He is now making music and telling his story!

Halle Berry, one of the few Black actresses to win an Academy Award for her performance in 'Monster's Ball' in 2001 once had a tough period. After marrying American baseball star David Justice in 1993, the couple divorced four years later. Halle was so depressed that she attempted to poison herself by locking herself in her car and inhaling all the carbon monoxide until she came to her senses and decided against it!

Oprah fell for an RJ while working as a production assistant, then discover that he was already married with children. So after this, the heartbroken woman crashed her car into a tree and attempted suicide. But it wasn't the first time she'd attempted suicide. She had consumed laundry detergent at the age of 14 to kill herself and the unborn child as a result of the rape.

Owen Wilson had struggled with depression and substance abuse for a long time. Owen's family and friends had been by his side throughout his difficult time, but he couldn't overcome his depression. His family nearly lost him once before, when the actor overdosed on pills and attempted to cut his wrists, ostensibly because his then-girlfriend Kate Hudson was caught cheating on him.
