Husband Gets Bitterness Being Asked To Scoop Cats' Litter By His Pregnant Wife, Reddit Is Disappointed With Him

It's lucky for a pet owner to have a generous lover sharing the affection toward animals as well as the pet chores. However, as far as we're concerned, many spouses aren't fond of pet tasks, especially the ones involving toilet duties. One of these mentioned spouses was a Redditor (with his account name u/triclavian) and he asked the community subreddit r/AmItheA**hole to designate if he was reasonable in his cat litter story. Let's scroll down and read what he got to tell!

The original poster and his wife had three kittens whose litter job was taken care of by her since he wasn't so enthusiastic. Then she got pregnant and asked him to clean up the felines' litter box because she was scared of the parasites living in cat droppings, which fairly displeased him. Therefore, he looked online and found a Wikipedia text claiming "living in a household with a cat is not a significant risk factor for infection".

The OP felt bittered as if scientists and public health information had exaggerated the Toxoplasma things and frightened his wife unnecessarily. He supposed she just needed to sanitize her hand after scooping the litter. But now she was horrified and he had to pick the disgusting litter chores up.

Redditors emphasized the OP wasn't innocent as he expected, even when he informed them he was doing the kittens' toilet job. The fact that he held the harshness about his wife getting away from the pet chores implicated him in being childish and calculative. They assumed he had underplayed how difficult carrying a baby was and he didn't even know the exact way to self-educate in this circumstance.

Some people advised him to buy a robot for the litter job, but the OP didn't think it was a good idea. He also replied to the spicy comments that encouraged a divorce that he was willing and would be fine if it happened. Plus, he still didn't believe in the effectiveness of public health media.

While the OP kept his salty point of view toward everything, several Redditors showed him some explanations on why he should be more sympathizing with his wife. In addition, they consulted him to fully prepare for the newborn because it would be a hundred to thousand times much harder and filthier than cleaning up the cats' mess.
